SunSurfer
Same storm caused extensive damage to Wellington, where I live. Wind gusts to 200km/hr, 15metre waves, heavy rain, the rise in sea level caused by both the low air pressure in the centre of the storm and the high tides from the super moon all combined to damage many properties and roads along the coast. The two sides of climate change.... More precipitation from more moisture in the atmosphere making for a great lot of snow and coastal property damage from the stronger storms. Our house is on top of a hill here in Wellington but was designed to stand high winds and was undamaged.

We are on the opposite end with everything here on fire http://www.9news.com/news/article/341973/339/West-Fork-Complex-Fire-grows-to-over-75000-acres Mother Nature is apparently UPSET. Allee
120cm at Cardrona would normally see them through an entire season...:) Glad you're OK, SunSurfer. That was quite the storm, by the sounds of it ... luckily everyone I know in Welly was OK, but my friends in Chch were pretty much buried. Michelle, we shall send you some water - Calgary has plenty to spare right now.
