Any comment/idea/ suggestion is much appreciated, I'm new to the sport and never tried anything else than my RT! These are the models, not sure about the MY
ibrussell
The Volkl is not as stiff, has more rebound, and is quicker edge to edge. I think the Volkl has a smaller radius. At 240 he shouldn't have any problems with F2. I liked my Volkl better than the F2 because it was quicker edge to edge. ib
BlueB
Volkl will turn a LOT tighter then F2. It is a 12.5m scr, vs. 16m (or more?) on the F2...
Keenan
At 240 lbs. the F2 is probable a good fit. I had this same board and weighed 180, I could barely flex it but with a wide enough uncrowded run it was still fun.
Corey
New to alpine riding & starting on a 182? That sounds like a poor fit unless he's very skilled and strong. I bought a 186 F2 in my 2nd or 3rd year of alpine riding and it handed me my butt. I'm 205 lbs, but I couldn't get that thing to turn at all. For comparison, I had the exact same 178 Volkl and loved it. Then again, if the price is right it might be worth the gamble. Boards can always be re-sold if they don't work well for you.
