GV27
Hi guys, My new Deeluxe 225s squeak like mad when I'm walking. Mostly from the forward lean mechanism on the back, I think. More than a little annoying, and can only mean that stuff is wearing faster than it could be. I think I know the answer to this question, but wanna make sure before I melt my new boots! What should I be using to lube it? Silicone spray is seems the safest but might not last particularly long. A petroleum product like WD-40 or the like sounds like a gamble though. I'm afraid it would soften up the plastic? I suppose I could safely use some silicone grease on the forward lean mechanism? Obviously a petroleum product won't harm the mechanism but would inevitably end up on the plastic. Thanks for the help, Chris

ursle
Bomber butter is better BBB I''d get some spray on vegetable oil(Pam), won't take much, save the rest for the bottoms on days when you don't want fresh pow to cake to the soles. CarvingScooby
I used to have same problem: Metal: Silicone spray that won't leave residue when its dry. Shell/Plastic: Candle. Rub it thoroughly to all plastic/rubber surface that slide against each other, include ankle straps. Did it last year (60 days) and no more squeeq till now. I''d get some spray on vegetable oil(Pam), won't take much, save the rest for the bottoms on days when you don't want fresh pow to cake to the soles. PAM - Good idea much easier to apply but never try. But the soles cake, wouldn't it be slippery? Thx RT
jp1
Works for me: LUBRIPLATE brand, 'General Purpose Food Grade Silicone Lubricant' spray on boots, bindings, etc. TSA & Bootfitters don't like it thopugh .
