BXFR70
The reason why Bola is asking 575.00 is because the bindings he is selling have a carbon fiber high back instead of the plastic one. The 449.00 binding does not have the carbon fiber high back. The bindings with the carbon high back are harder to find. They would be stiffer as well which is what you might want since you are looking at the Catek binding. You might want to call Bola back and ask about the high backs? He is not over pricing them. Actually I did ask and they are not carbon they are the fr2 pro not the pro limited even the pro limited did not retail for 575 I beleive they were still under 500. Or were they more? I am not sure but these are not the carbon ones anyway.
bobdea
Well-known problem with Catek. Has anyone heard from them in the past few years? (Search around Bomber, there's plenty written about the situation.) I had a conversation by Phone with Jeff a few months ago, he's alive and so is catek. Those were the ones at 550$. 575$ for the FR2 Pro (non carbon) is pretty high....
Corey
Sounds like supply and demand to me. These are pretty hard to get, so some people are willing to pay more to get them. Customers are free to vote with their money. Look at the original Madd 158s and Northwave boots - they're being sold for a pretty penny as there are more people that want them than there are good examples left. I do not really know about the Madd 158's or Northwave boots, but for people that really want FR2's and are willing to pay a lot more than retail, they kno where to find them... I mainly want these for the canting, so the idea from Fin is a very good one, with some older C60's. they are a bit stiffer than the current C60's I actually put one of each, ( an old one and a newer one) on a board the other night to see how flexible each was, and even the baseplates are stiffer on the older ones, and the highback is way stiffer. so I will see how it goes with the FR2's.
