Gecko
Japanese Style...I've seen a bunch of these on the mountains here...at least two seperate manufacturers...I like the design
Gecko
that with an exchange rate of 107Y to the dollar even the bargin model is more expensive than TD's/Oly's but the stepin system in interesting and different than SnowPro's
jpk
Very similar to the Nitro Razor Step In Binding. JPK
Chris Houghton
That is the FAST system, eliminates all that junk in the boot heel, the mechanism is on the binding. Downside - once you have those pins on the heels of your boots it's very difficult if not impossible to use regular bindings. Good concept though, even if you have to bend down to release. Jack M
the mechanism is interesting, but the rest of the binding looks like a warmed-over Burton Race Plate.
Strider
Yup...just like the Nitro. My friend has a pair and the pins in the heel piece are set. Its not a bad binding at all, but I like the adjustments and especially the elastomers on the TD2 over the Nitro.
NateW
I saw some of the old Nitros that worked this way and I really like the idea. I actually talked to a machinist in my area about making a pair, but the cost of making just two of these scared me back to Intec. I thought FAST was different though, don't the FAST heels have notches in them where these heels (and intecs) have pins sticking out? D-Sub
yeah..I thought f.a.s.t was pins in the binding and holes in the boot heel? thats what the snowpro ones do... these look nothing like that...they remind me of something but I cant think of what... Neil Gendzwill
Besides, pins stick out of your heels with Intec and they're no trouble with conventional bindings. Why should these be different?
Gecko
These are more like "Out Tech" I laid hands on a set today while a tech was doing a tune...very nicely made, on par with my Olympics but...yes there is always a but...no option for canting or lift that I could see...and too expensive to canablize onto my standards... Chris you want to clarify what you meant by some of this? even with intec pins, standard bail bindings arent an issue really...?
