Dan
How does the Skier's Code apply to this situation? Is the boarder at fault for not scoping the line, even though he could probably see that no one was hitting it before him? Or, is the cat operator at fault for not checking uphill before entering the run? Discuss...
b0ardski
I always give heavy equipement the right of way no matter what I'm driving. He must have had the phones up too loud and couldn't hear the cat (they are noisy).
Civ
something about that looks fake. Maybe it is the lack of response from the rider, he doesnt even turn around and look back afterwards. If real, fire that cat driver.

Yes! Me too - even if it's just ski patrol on a sled I make eye contact and yield. Guess that's one argument against headphones on the hill. I didn't consider that this could be faked - it looks to me like the boarder twisted in air to get his board away from the cat's blade. KingCrimson
I saw a groomer on the back of a cat running while it was in the up position. Definitely would not want to meet that, let alone the plow on the front.
NateW
I wonder if the run was closed and the boarder ducked the rope? I'm guessing it's real, you can hear people yelling... scary stuff.
www.oldsnowboards.com
We had one that was not so lucking in the PNW a few years back. When flesh and metal meet, metal wins. I have seen it too many times.
