Alaska Newby
Hello Tanker Gurus I found this at out local ski swap here in Juneau Alaska. It looks like it has almost never been ridden, the base is pristine, and the binding marks are very hard to see. Can you tell me what year this is? Anything about this I should know? Looking forward to trying it on our usual "Juneau Powder" mashed potato crud!
inkaholic
I think late 90's. All tankers are schweet! That is definately a keeper and the 192's are a blast to ride and no longer available. Ink
Randy T.
That is the 99-00 model Tanker.
svr
Yes, Randy hit it on the spot. That is a 99-00 Tanker 192...the two strips that you see through the topsheet are Kevlar Honeycomb stringers to make the board lighter. cheers, sandy
Guest
That board is so sweet. I only got to ride mine for a few runs before I destroyed it on a buried stump, but it is such a sweet pow board. It is crazy stable, and despite its length, it turns very well in pow. I navigated trees with ease with it. Might you be interested in selling it?
Alaska Newby
Thanks for explaining the pedigree of this beast! :) I thought about passing this along to a more worthy rider, but our area here isn't open yet and I really want to give this monster a try! My go-to board is a Donek Axxess that Sean built for me last year and I just ordered some new TD3s. Do you guys think I should try the Tanker with the TD3s or with last years SnowPros? It's getting cold and snowing so our little area will be open in a week or two! This will be fun!
Guest
Go with the TD3s. With a wider board, I think you need a binding that will transmit power more efficiently to it. If it doesn't turn out to be to your liking, please let me know.
BlueB
I've tried mine with TD2s and with Snowpros. Works well with both. TD2 gives a bit more power, while Snowpro has slightly looser feeling more suited for freeriding.
WEBSIGHT360
Go with the TD3's. I ride a Tanker 200 with TD2 Step-ins using the suspension kit, and I absolutely love it. It is an awesome ride with these bindings. A great freeriding combination. Especially if you are a heavier rider like me (220 lbs). I was not dissapointed...
