Do any of you know Joe the Plumber -???? POLITICAL

C5 Golfer

Recommended Posts

an apprentice plumber. He works without a license. Doesn't sound as if he has taken any classes. Guys who who went to trade school and served real apprenticeships are losing jobs because of people like Joe. What an example. I bet he works on his own, breaking State lisencing laws.....

He doesn't understand health insurance (doesn't have any) and he can't pay his hospital bills (lien against his house)

Oh and the taxes he was so worried about, turns out he doesn't bother paying them anyway (lien against his house)

And the buying the bussiness thing was something he talked to his boss about when he was first hired 6 years ago.

Someone screwed up in the debate after all.

I really didnt mean anything about his sexuality, more about another plant in the crowd to try to make things go their way. I dont think it worked as planned.

it worked as planned, there's a fair part of the conservative base that loves that ****.

They'd vote for a Hitler/Pol Pot ticket if they claimed they were going to cut taxes.

Joe the plumber and Joe six pack fear the guy with the funny name that's also brown.

given, that bit was a Al Jazeera piece but it's one of those things where it was a right wing rally (religious right) which basically translates to exactly what you saw in the video. this is the base palin motivates, she's a embarrasment to the country.

True, that. As was said, "look at his bloodline, look at his name" "Hes an Arab!". Funny how that segment of the population, is actually afraid of a living wage for most, an educated population, and while they say they believe in keeping what you earn, they want everything for free. Higher divorce rates in Red states, less government regulation {great!}(unless what you are doing is against what they believe) then its anti-american.

Tex, I am just curious, and this is in no way a flame. 1. Do you believe anything said in the video posted by Bobdea? 2. Do you believe Sarah Palin is really the best VP pick? I honestly am curious on your thoughts. Thanks,Art

Which video? (he posted several...)

If you just accused me of racism or blind devotion to a religion, you know absolutely nothing about me.

I don't think Palin is the best pick, just as I don't think McCain was the best Presidential pick. But I think that the economic and foreign policy intentions of the Republican candidates have a better chance of success than those touted by the opposition.

I also think running on a platform of "Change" and picking a running mate who has spent more than half his life in the Senate may not have been the best idea for Obama.

As for the social policies, I believe that both sides are much more centrist than they are showing in the campaign, but they are playing to the core of their respective parties.

There's many things about Mccain that I hate but I get why people would vote for the guy, however, Palin negates all that completely. Big Mac has had cancer 3 or 4 times. It would be no surprise if he dies a year into the first term. Caribou Barbie as president would be dangerous, her husband belonged to a group that their whole mantra is about fighting the US government even by violent means, he was with them until like a year ago even though Sarah endorsed them in 2008. That group by the way was funded by IRAN.

If you want your arguments to be considered by the other side, you must first form a solid argument and refrain from name calling, witty nicknames, posting videos from blatantly anti-american news organizations (sorry, Bob, but Al Jazeera? Give me a break). That's all I'm saying...

The entire discussion of this election has degenerated into vile accusations and ridiculous speculation. The lack of respect given to candidates by opposing parties is embarassing. (this applies to both sides) I do not Hate Sen. Obama or Sen. Biden. I do not Love Sen. McCain or Gov. Palin. I just think one team will do a better job than the other. Does that make me stupid, racist, evil, or foolish?

Maybe I'll just write in Mike Bloomberg.

why do we not have anyone bashing Nader, La Riva , Puryear, Harris, Barr et al -- they are running too. There has to be some new material there with those.. it would be very refreshing.

the Palin statement is ridiculous. I belong to a religion that says you should be stoned to death for touching the skin of a dead pig. Ready to throw rocks at football players?

The Bush quote is questionable until you show sources (not challenging that he said it, but it's been repeated so many times without referencing the original context that it seems like an internet fairy tale)

edit: I googled that and it appears to have been reported that a former Palestinian minister claims he said it in a meeting. I do not see one credible source for that comment...just hearsay from a former Palestinian official...and I cannot imagine any politician making such a statement in the situation claimed in the interviews (first ever meeting)

Mr Powell is an intelligent man. He is entitled to his opinion.

you're throwing rocks at a brick wall. I can easily point out hundreds of faults with the other side as well and it won't change either of our minds.

Politicians are human. Humans are imperfect. Pick the ones you support, but don't insult the life or intelligence of people who oppose your views, And don't use unsubstantiated talking points.
