Chile

There is good riding at Nevado, and you had the option of buying a ticket to La Parva and spending a day there(easy out of bounds shot between the two resorts).. El Colorado was close by also, but I never made it that far. Can't compare Nevado to anything else I've been to. IMO you can't go wrong anywhere in Chile. Check in with ShrederJen, Bola and Ray for some more experienced travelers.

MMMM...love to bring this up!

You can't go wrong with Tres Valles (La Parva, El Colorado and Valle Nevado). Portillo has a nicer ambiance, more consistent lodging and food, and a fixed group of people to deal with on the slopes (very few day skiers). Termas, as mentioned, is very nice, but on occasion deals with rainfall at the lower elevations.

Las Lenas and Catedral in Argentina are excellent choices as well.

In either case, the opportunity to be in the Andes, to enjoy the snow, sun and wine is too good to pass up.

+1 for Termas

Had a great time last year with good snow conditions for both, carving and pow. Portillo was fun too, much more family oriented though…

If you can split the trip and travel with a rental car from the Santiago area ski resorts all the way south to Termas, pretty cool scenic drive… Yea, and all the good Chilean wine, hmm! Would and will do it again!

Cheers!

Seems like it would be better and cheaper to take 2 weeks off now and take advantage of the great late season conditions in the good ole Pacific Northwest...Mt Bachelor and Mt Hood. Pick up a $99 season pass and enjoy.

I was just there. It's ****ing awesome right now. Winter is still in full effect. Got a pow day in on Saturday (pretty much fresh lines all day) and sunday (morning).
