willywhit
I rode Gleb's Dervish and it's super fun,I don't know squat about vanguards etc
xxguitarist
drop-throughs reduce leverage a little.. in this case, its a good thing. the dervish is far & away my favorite loaded board. unline the vanguard, it doesnt flex mainly from the middle, its more of an even flex. alllaround nice board- just remove those raised logos from your baseplates! oh, and if you're like me.. (i'm a mere 155 lbs) and like to really drive the board, go for the heavier flex.

It's all you'll be riding 'cause of lack of snow? Aren't you glad I "talked" you guys into getting one for the demo fleet? Oh, and since you rode both flexes, which one did you preffer? (Billy got to ride MY new Dervish before I did.... But it's all good :p )

bobdea
yeah, those loaded boards seem to be hit or miss for allot of people, I love mine though.

The more I ride mine, the more I like it... I guess I enjoy a little variety. I ride everything from old-school pool / park sticks, to slalom / GS sticks to Carveboards, to Loaded boards..... The dervish is now officially my 7-year-old's favorite skateboard too. He's decided it's even cooler than the 6-wheel GS Board...

It wasn't getting a lot of traffic (except for the porn spammers ) Most all of the old articles are accessible now, along with a few new ones, and we're slowly getting photos on the gallery also... Gecko
whats the doublekick with Randals for? I'll hold off posting photos of mine until I get reset my pool boards and get my 9th board fitted out
xxguitarist
unfortunately, no concise photo of all the ones i've built and sent on their way.
Skully
whats the doublekick with Randals for? It's for riding...... Just kidding. I had an extra pair of Randals sitting around, and came across an SMA Mark Jonses pool board for cheap, so I threw it together. I don't really like the old-school Zorlac on the far end (Another cheap deck I couldn't pass up) so eventually it will probably become a clock, and the Indy's will end up on the SMA. Or maybe I'll try the Randal front, Indy rear that some of the pool / park guys are running. I've ridden slalom sticks, carve boards and loaded boards too much lately and preffer a board that actually turns over the straight unwedged indys. Maybe when the park a few blocks from my house opens up, I'll learn to like plain old Indys again.....
Chubz
Whats the one with blue wheels and what trucks are those? Nice quiver. I can see I am going to need to start building some other shapes and lengths besides what I have built.

Skully
Whats the one with blue wheels and what trucks are those? Carvestik, with some cutouts to avoid wheelbite. The trucks are also carvestik. Similar to seismics, or probably more similar to mountainboard trucks.

Gleb
I love mine more with every turn. I get bored of the way it handles so i just loosen the trucks and it feels like i have a new board. God i love it! Just started to get the wheels to begin sliding, but nothing big yet. The big wheels it comes with are nice for the crappy pavement of boston. Saved me many times.
Gecko
Maguns for me thanks.... NOT....spending a new Coiler on a set of trucks means that I would then need to buy a board worth of the trucks, like maybe Carbon Fiber Rayne Avenger (ask Gleb about Brian's, his is on Kahalani's) and then I'd need Momo's or some other un-obtainium wheel...In truth I'm not good enough to really notice the difference between Cast and CNC trucks nor am I likely to be skating at the speeds where I would ever need CNC trucks...whether DHing or Slaloming that's money I can't justify. As for running a Speedboard on Indy's there was a time that all speedboards were on Indy's because that's all there was...215's are a nice truck and provide a god feel. My next board will be top mount more for garages and high speed carving, not for pure speed which is what I have my Drop Through for
Gleb
that carbon board was nice!! Too nice almost. I'd hate to take a tumble on it because I'd be afraid to bang it up. I'd like to put some of those downhill trucks with ceramic plates in the middle. They help build up momentum. I can't find the picture right now, but it was in a section on silverfish where people customized their Vangards and Dervishes.

Yeah that board was probably $1000 total...definitely not something I can justify spending money on very nice though and the pattern for what I'm asking Andrew to build for me

Then technology changed / improved. not neccessarilly the same thing here....If I were running 78mph down a Colorado mountain road like Kevin Rimes then yes CNC reverse kingpin trucks would be a place where your premise is true...but my plan is 25-30mph carving on local hills and parking garages. Indy 215's are much more capable at these speeds than uber trucks
