F9 Driver
Hey, just got my hands on an Oxygen Proton 168. I can't find any info about it anywhere. Are they still in buisiness (Atomic?)? Specs, or info, Anyone? I tried to bid on that PJ on Ebay, but I guess I was too late
crucible
There are many reviews on the Oxygen Proton here; a search will bring them up. As for whether Oxygen is still in production, they are a division of Atomic/Dynastar, so yes. Simply put, they are solid and a great carving value- I have a 164 Proton and a 172 Proton and use them about 30-40 days a season.
Chris Houghton
You can find the specs on their website, if I recall correctly the 168 had a bigger sidecut, like 13 m or so, and 19.5 waist. Derf might also have a link to their specs.
Derf
I only have specs for the KR (Proton predecessor), but I am working on getting more specs on everything. It should be up by next winter.
F9 Driver
Thanks guys. Chris, do you happen to know what their website address is? www.oxygensnowboards.com just takes me to a generic home page, I don't think that is their site. Does anyone have the URL? On that note does anyone know where I can find "the most holiest of grails?" Glen

dirk109
The Startingate in Bondville, VT sells them. Oxygen dosen't have a website anymore. The Gate has a spec. sheet. Great boards.
Chris Houghton
Oxygen Proton 168 from the TWS 2001 catalog: 151 cm eff edge, 13 m sidecut, 23.8/19.5/23.8 nose/waist/tail, so no taper. Retail is listed as $369, but I don't remember them being that cheap.

F9 Driver
Those get rich schemes are awesome, I am gonna try 2-3 of them. I really thought selling that PJ on ebay for $1000 bucks was gonna do it, but unfortunately the "man" from the New Snowboard World Order, the same one that took down the Asym industry, conspired to take out all of the legitimate bidders. Anyway, thanks for pointing out that Madd sale, I might actually be able to scrape that kind of cash together. Thank you Chris, for the specs on the Proton, very helpfull. tex1230
there are usually a few lghtly used Madd 170s for sale in the classifieds...$350 seems to be the average price. If I decide on a new board next year I'll probably flip mine around there. (that's what I paid for it...they do seem to hold value pretty well depending on time of year and condition)
