johnstewart Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 Headed west in a few weeks; would like to take something out to take the place of my old freestyle board (just not stiff enough for any real carving). I've got an Axis for the non-powder days, but when there is snow, I'd like to find something that can float better than that (yet still carve). Quote

Volkl Cross (see my just posted WTB thread) also a similar ride...stiff and snappy in the tail, slightly softer in the nose, and full width. Quote
johnstewart Posted January 24, 2007 Author Report Posted January 24, 2007 Heh.... as far as I know, I have no kids. Methinks you're thinking of some other johnstewart! Quote
Carp Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 John, If you don't want to buy I've got a Salomon FRS 165 with TD1 Intecs you could use for your trip. You'd just have to come to Milwaukee to pick it up or pay for shipping there and back. It's 165cm, pretty wide and plenty stiff. Let me know. Carp Quote
johnstewart Posted January 24, 2007 Author Report Posted January 24, 2007 Thanks, Carp. I may take you up on that... but of course I'd prefer to be riding my own gear. Looks like Prior has a slightly funked up 167 with the quad glass - 15% stiffer, apparently. However, as mostly this is my pow/freeride board, I'm not sure I actually want stiffer Quote
Neil Gendzwill Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I haven't seen an FRS in years, but I recall shop-flexing one and they are really stiff. Quote
Mike T Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I haven't seen an FRS in years, but I recall shop-flexing one and they are really stiff. I rode one for a couple of seasons. IIRC, about as stiff as the Donek Axis 172. Mine didn't stand up very well to off-psite riding though, it died young. Quote
