Didn't Burton do the same thing before they got out of alpine entirely? (they did get out of alpine, didn't they?) Could be a few reasons. Maybe they don't want to declare their presence in the market to forestall embarrassment if they decide to drop alpine. Or, maybe they've just decided that their limited marketing dollars are going to go to larger markets than alpine?

FYI - The Addicted-R17 alpine board and bindings made for the Japan market by Burton were dropped for the 05/06 season. Nothing is planned for 06/07.

Bummer! I think they held out for as long as they could. They had a difficult time selling some models so many shops still have them in inventory over there. Was in Tokyo last week and saw a few lingering in the sale racks.

Buy up all the intec parts!!...Looks like the lawsuit is taking it's toll.

I'm assuming F2's alpine line was not super-profitable in the first place,

although they must sell more in Europe.

( Just a guess! I have NO IDEA what's happening with the lawsuit... )
