Carp
Hey Portland carvers and anyone who's been, I've got a friend travelling there on Sunday and looking for good places to eat. Everything from hole in the wall cheap good food to fancy dining. Also, any fun activities to do during the day. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Carp
www.oldsnowboards.com
Is your friend Flying in? For one day? More? Been here before? Age? Interests? Renting a car? Contact via PM or website email address for suggestions. Some of the highlights folks try to squeeze into a visit here might include: Oregon coastline: Very reasonable day trip. The Gorge: Scenic drive 1/2 to full day. Mt Hood: Tie in with the Gorge for an excellent day loop. Just missed the Rose Festival events. Pioneer Square downtown: Arts , street folks , etc. Suggest a few google searches ? Weather looks good for traveling at this point.

Dan
I love eating! -Wong's King (the SE Division one) for dim sum -Stanich's for burgers -Khun Pic's Bhan Thai (on SE Belmont) for Thai food (the deep fried catfish special is a must if they visit on a weekend) -Pambiche for Cuban food -Timberline Lodge dining room is pricey but good and has an unbeatable view. -Rogue Brewing Public House (NW Portland) for Oregon beer -Full Sail brewery (in Hood River) for more Oregon beer, plus it's a nice way to finish off a trip to the Gorge -Walking Man (in Stevenson, WA) for Washington beer, plus it's also a nice way to round out a trip to the Gorge -Horse Brass (SE Belmont) for pub atmosphere and a killer selection of taps. ...apparently I love drinking too :)

Mike T
-Saburo in NW Portland if you like large quantities of tasty sushi and don't mind waiting in line -Rendezvous Grill in Welches, partway between Mt Hood and Portland. I hear their steak isn't that great (I stay away from red meat so I wouldn't know), but awesome seafood. -Horsefeathers in Hood River. Great beer, better view. -McTarnahan's in NW, or Widmer near the Rose Garden. Mmmmm.... Oregon beer.
