Hi All

My son is 14 year old and races GS and PGS here in Ontario, Canada. I'd welcome your suggestions for a summer race camp. We're looking for top level coaching, in a fun and safe environment for his age group.

Appeciated.

Cheers

Mt Hood Summer Ski Camp offers a quality snowboard race program and would be better for someone under 18. It is also relatively inexpensive, with ~$900/session covering food, lodging, lift tickets, transportation, etc. Definately my recomendation for summer camps on hood. Check out their site, www.mthood.com for more info.

Arch and I are doing a camp at Copper June 1-7. This camp will be all PGS focused. We will be doing two days of drills and four days in gates. Price is $700, for lodging, tickets, lane space, coaching, dry land, gym access. This does not include food or transportation. We will be staying slopeside and our condo will have a full kitchen so you will be able to cook there and save on some money instead of eating out.

Last I heard Pete and Lisa are doing a camp in Hood sometime this summer. I don't know any info but if you don't have a way to get in touch with them let me know and I can give you their contact info.

Also Anton and I are doing a camp again in South America in Aug. we are still sorting out dates and prices, but it looks like it will be at Las Lenas Aug. 19-30.

Hi Phil:

Thanks for the reply. I need to sort out what camp would work best, for a now 14 year old teenage racer. I also need to work out logistics, as my son would be travelling alone from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. So, can you tell me abit more about the camps that you are managing, particularly how the camp would accommodate a 14 year old. I have a number of questions / topics to discuss. You can reach me off line at the following tels. Office 416-359-2402 Home 416-495-9965, or via email at jhcolman@rogers.com . If you leave a message at home, just leave your name. I have not yet mentioned this to my son, as I have not yet determined whether we could work the logistics and timing out.

I'd also like to obtain contact information for Pete and Lisa, to obtain further information about their camp.

Abit of background about my son. He currently races with the Ontario Association of Snowboarders. He competed in the 11 to 13 age category. He had a blast this season and picked up a number of medals along the way. He raced 4 Provincial (akin to US Regional) races, and placed 1st, 3rd, 1st and 6th (he fell). He then placed 1st at the Provincial Championships. Also 1st in all of the 3 lower level recreational races he ran. He will turn FIS age the season after next (i.e. 2007/2008). So he had a great season, capped by a Championships 1st and (the following weekend) watching and meeting his heros at the Lake Placid (Whiteface) race. He's now stoked! However, next year will be more competitve, as he will be moving up an age class and also attending a tryout camp for our Provincial Team. So he could use abit of help this summer, to make life alittle easier and more fun for the upcoming winter.

Please call me or leave a contact number where you can be reached. Most appreciated.

Cheers

Hi All:

One other camp option. I heard that Ross Rebegliati was planning a camp up in Whister, which would therefore be in our home country. I have emailed Ross (at the address provided on his website) but have not had a reply. The email address could ofcourse have changed. Does anyone have direct contact information for Ross?

Cheers
