  3. My son was 19', weighed 155 lbs and was 5 feet 10 inches tall when it was made for him. He found the board to be slightly stiffer than average. I am looking for sidecut info, but am not sure if I will find that. It a GS raceboard.

The Coiler offer to build this custom board was won at a racing event; the rider was already well equipped, so it was barely subsequently used. These Boards then sold for about $1,000, and this board is barely used. $550 or best offer received from all. The bindings shown on the board are NOT included.   7. Hi Folks Sorry I haven't been back to you. I had a backlog of work, following my return from holidays. The Boots are still for sale. $175 or best offer. The liner is mondo 26.0 to 26.5, so will fit 25.75 to 26.75. The liner is high quality and mouldable to fit. Fit my son for all of 2 seasons! He's now in a 27.0 to 27.5 . Cheers Julian

  9. Folks We have a pair of Deeluxe Suzuka's with the thermo moldable lining. Mondo 26.0 - 26.5. The also have the upgraded heels (purchased from Bomber in September 2009). So the heals have 1 season on them. THEY ARE IN DECENT CONDITION (NO BROKEN PARTS OR TEARS) AND THE PHOTOS MAKE THE BOOTS LOOK MORE SCUFFED THAN THEY REALLY ARE. PRICE REDUCED TO $175 US OR BEST OFFER.My son loved these boots, as they are as high quality as the Indy's, but not as stiff as the Indy's (now the AF700's). So while he was/is an aggressive rider, he weighed 135 lbs and finished at 165 lbs. They were perfect. So these boots are good for intermediate to expert (aggressive) riders. We purchased the boots new either 2 or 3 seasons ago. They have been heat fit 2 or 3x, so can still be heat fit 3 or 4 more X atleast. The boots are in good condition. There are surface scuffs and scratches, but no broken components. (one of the side cuff mounting bolts broke, but I have the repair part and I will replace that). I will include some spare parts (my son is a racer, so we always kept/keep spare parts on hand). See the Bomber site for foot measurement instructions.   13. Folks We have a 2006 Kessler 185 with Hangle Plates mounted. We would prefer to sell the board and plates together, but would consider selling them seperately. FYI, the picture shows F2 bindings mounted on the plates; the F2 bindings are NOT for sale. We will remove them, when the board is sold. The Hangle Plates were purchased in September 2009 for $500 plus shipping and were raced for one season. They are in excellent condition. The 2006 Kessler was purchased used from a racer. It has the round nose. It is well used but quite ridable. The racer we purchased it from had drilled 2 extra holes (at each end) for F2 plates, which were mounted using helicoils. The helicoils pulled out, resulting in a very small metal tears at each hole. They filled the holes with epoxy and glued the metal down. We bought the board and brought it too a race serviceman, who checked the holes and metal and found the repair to be quite solid, with little likelyhood of further tearing. The base is in good condition, as we maintained it for Noramcup racing. However, the fellow that mounted the F2 plates used bolts that were millimeters too long, resulting in 4 boltsized extruded marks on the base. Our race serviceman repaired these. They now intrude very very slightly (you can hardly tell) and have not impact the boards riding in any way. Given the above, and the fact that the board has the Hangles screwed mounted, I would recommend riding the board with the Hangles on, as a training board. This was a relatively inexpensive way for my son to try the Hangles, which he very much liked. He felt he could power through anything, with the extra weight and stiffness offered by the plates. However, he is now focused on highschool graduation marks and university, and is therefore not racing Noram at this time. Alternatively, you can remove the screws and fill the screw holes. We have a Catek binding mounting plate (brand new) that we can sell you (for $50) that will ensure that the metal around the aforementioned repaired binding holes remains absolutely solid, and generally protect the board. BTW, for those that are concerned about riding a new looking board, we have reconditioned the surface of other Kesslers by removing the surface paint coat and reapplying a clear mat spray paint. The result is a grey mat finish that looks like it is straight out of the factory. Pricing is as follows, in $US: Kessler $250 Kessler w. new Catek Binding Mounting Plate $300 Hangle Plates $325 Kessler with Hangle Plates (no Catek Plate) $475 FYI, we have no further information on the Kessler.   15. Hi Do you still have them? If so, as long as they are in decent shape and will fit a Deluux Suzuka boot size Mondo 25-25.5, we'll take them. This is for my son, who races with the Ontario Team. What size are the bindings. FYI, He fits into the F2 large, cranked down to a small setting. I suspect that he would also fit a medium, cranked up to the largest setting. We really do need another pair at a fair price, to place on a Kessler GS with Henkl plates that he is learning to ride (currently riding a Coiler Titinal GS and a Kessler SL). Cheers Julian

  17. Boardbum: A perspective. My son is on the Ontario Snowboard Club (Alpine)Team. This was his first year racing FIS, having just turned FIS age. In preparation for the step up, he (and all FIS age members of the Team) raced Open Mens at all Provincial events. They did not race Junior, even though the Open Mens category starts at age 18. They were not concerned about qualifying; they just needed to gain the experience of competing in a FIS like Opens Mens category, seeing how they ranked and hopefully gaining position over time. Their attitude was the same at FIS races. They knew that only the top Ontario Team members had a shot at qualifying, which at just about every FIS race I've seen is the top 16 for men and top 8 for women. They knew that the competition would be even stiffer at the PGS/PSL Nationals, given the attendance of the National A and B (development) Teams of both countries. Our Ontario Team was delighted to have this opportunity to train and compete with the National Team members, and to chat with and learn from them. A number of the Canadian National Team members are our good friends and former teammates. Our Team knew that the National Team members (A and B) would likely take all of the qualifying spots. So be it. It was just fantastic for them to be there. They had a blast; no complaints. And (to crow abit about our Team); one of our members actually took a 20th spot (on one run) against the best in North America; and he is only 17! The point that I am making is that I'm sure you had an awesome time and learned alot. To be there competing with the worlds best, as they prepare for 2010, must have been awesome. Focus on that, rather than qualifying (or not). As for qualifying 32 vs 16, it would have been most unusual for a FIS race to qualify 32 racers. That's a pretty huge field to put through heats. And if they did, the next knock out round would have narrowed the field to 16 anyway. More over, the event is a NORAM National. It should, by definition, be difficult to qualify. Life in the competitive world. I think you need to see your glass half full, not half empty. Cheers Julian

  21. A pair of Deluxe Suzukas, mondo 25.0 to 25.5. - Reduced to $175 This is one of the best alpine snowboard boots around. The boot and the thermoflex liner are mondo 25.0 to 25.5. These boots have 2 seasons on them. They have a Thermoflex liner (that we paid a further $100 for) that has been heat fit 2x and can be heat fit about 5 more times. This gives you a very snug custom fit. The Indy version of the boots is on sale at the store for $370; but these will be too stiff more most folks in this boot size range. The new Track version sells for $550. These Suzuka boots are still awesome and are available at a great price of $175. These boots were perfect for my son over the past 2 years. Just the right balance of flex and stiffness. He is staying with the same brand and model, but a size up, as these are now too small for him. To determine size, draw a pencil line around your foot. Draw a line parallel to the front toe and the rear heal. Draw carefully. Measure the distance between the front and rear lines. That will be your size. Also try the shell test. Place your foot in a Deeluxe boot shell, without the liner. You should be able to fit in 2 fingers, one of top of the other finger; ie about 2 cm of room, for the liner.   22. Hi All The following gear is available. Feel free to email me at jhcolman@rogers.com. - Donek GS - this is a 160 cm or so custom built Donek GS race board. We bought it from a very strong 14 year old rider on the USASA circuit. It is a more "lively" board than the Coiler (i.e. somewhat stiffer and more reactive). I would guess that this board is a 7 or so stiff, on the Coiler scale. My son was 12 when we acquired the board. He was then (I am guessing) around 105 lbs and maybe 4 foot 10 or 5 foot. This was his second carving board; he previously rode a Burton factory prime. This board also helped him advance, as it was much narrower and quicker (edge to edge) than the Burton. However, it was abit stiff during his first year of riding it. He grew further in his second year on the board (age 13, then weighing say 115 lbs and mearuing 5 foot 2. The board worked well for him that year. So I would say this would be a good board for a strong rider weighing 115 lbs or more and say 5 foot or more. The weight and riding strength are key, to flex the board. Donek sells it's stock boards today for $650 US; plus another $250 for "Olympic Construction". Their custom boards (which this was) sell for $1,100. Plus gst/pst and shipping. A great price at $250. Again, the base of this board is in very good condition, as are the edges. The top sheet has scratches and nicks. The board is dark red. - A pair of Deluxe Suzukas, mondo 25.0 to 25.5. This is one of the best alpine snowboard boots around.   23. Hi All: We know about the Henkel plates, etc. Concept being that the bindings are isolated from the board, allowing better board flex and thereby better performance. But these plates add substantial weight and significant additional height. So we understand that they are generally only suitable for somewhat heaver and/or aggressive racers. Not the best for women or teenagers. However, we have learned of a system made by F2: the S-Flex system. It is apparently much lighter. In any event, our attitude toward gear is that we buy what is suitable to ones experience and skill level. So ... if this F2 system will be of substantial benefit (ie really help and not hinder), then we would consider it. Gear does evolve and if this is the next evolution, we'll consider it. But if its just another tech toy, or my son is really not ready for it, we'll pass. Does anyone have any experience riding or racing this system? Is there anyone in the eastern Canada area (or might be going to the Quebec FIS race) that has a pair? We would like to see and test it. Thanks all Best Julian
