  1. Since I'm in europe, the price difference is not very big. I can get a Pogo for maybe 800 € and Prior would probably be some 700 € including shipping, taxes....
  2. Pogo Impact 168 or Prior 4WD 169? I have a custom Coiler RC175, but it's too big for crowded slopes and bad piste quality. And since I just found a job, I won't be able to go snowboarding to some better resorts. I'll have to go only for weekend trips to some local resorts and it's hard to ride my Coiler on them! So, I can't decide between these two boards. I tested a Pogo Impact few years ago and loved it, and I have never tested a Prior. Impact seems to be very easy to carve even on crowded slopes and it feels good carving it! I guess 4WD is good for crowded slopes too, but it's not made for pistes only, like Impact... so it may not be such a good carver. On the other hand, I guess 4WD can handle worse piste conditions. And now I don't know what to choose! I'm not so much into powder, so Prior being an AM board doesn't make an influence on my choice Please tell me your opinion on this. Thanks
  3. i guess the 2nd eff edge should be measured from the widest part of nose to the widest part of tail if i'm not wrong i don't know how you got different results, but i guess the 2nd method can't be wrong
  4. Wow! i'm afraid i won't purchase one this season. maybe next.. but to be honest, i think i liked Pogo Impact more than Virus Nightmare when i tested them some 3 years ago... And Pogo is about 700 €! i'll have to try that Gladiator this winter!
  5. thanks and do you guys know what's Gladiator's price in Europe? does it depend on the material? thanks again
  6. and i see you guys have different materials there... Can you compare some of them too?
  7. Could you please compare Black Death and Gladiator? Those two seem interesting to me The only Virus I tried was Nightmare, and it was great, but too short for my taste Thanks
  8. i designed those two for myself. but since i'm buying a Pogo Impact this season, i won't have money for either of them
  9. does look interesting! anyone tried them? any guys from japan here?
  10. I rode one a few years ago, and I'd say that it feels like some 10 m radius. I didn't feel comfortable doing larger turns on it. Maybe because of short effective edge. But maybe it's just my own fault :o Anyway, an excelent board!
  11. Hi all! I think I'll get myself a SG Cult 169. The only thing that warries me is that it's got only 134 cm eff edge Do you think it's gonna be enough eff edge for carving groomers? Thanks http://www.sgsnowboards.com/
  12. I've seen it on http://www.sgsnowboards.com/ and it looks interesting :)
  13. Thank you all for your inputs in my last thread. Now I'm thinking between Prior 4WD 169 and SG AllMountain Alpine 169. To mention again, I'm 5'10'' and weigh 165-170 lbs and I need a board that'd be best possible for carving on ruined pistes and uneven snow with bumps, moguls and stuff. What would you chose and why? Thanks again!
  14. Thanks guys! I don't know yet how fast am I gonna learn to ride this thing, but I'm definitely more after some lower layed turns than "slalom" turns when carving a longboard! I hope I'll be able to do that in some time Does this change anything in choosing a board for me? Thanks again! P.S. and this is what I'd like to look like when I grow up. at least in this style ;)
  15. Hi all! I'm totally new here... I've been tinking of getting myself a longboard for at least a year now. I'd like to get something that would be the best substitute for alpine snowboard carving. I don't know much about longboards, but I've been thinking of following (I find them interesting by looks :o ): Landyachtz The Wedge-Flex Pogo TT Citycruiser 110 cm Arbor Bamboo Pin Loaded Vanguard Bamboo G&S BlackTip Pintail Gravity Carve 46" Kauna Pipeline Lush Bahari Motion Bigfish Sector9 Goddess or maybe some other? What's your suggestion? Thanks!
  16. Thanks guys! I said that I'd like a light and turny board because I think it's sometimes easier to carve between those piles of snow than to carve through them. And with a light and turny board you don't get so dead tired after 2 or 3 hours of carving such a terrain... Am I wrong with this theory? And what about SG AM Alpine 169? Anybody tried that one? How would you compare it to Donek, Prior or Coiler? Thanks again!
  17. Hi all! I need a board that'd be the best possible for carving on ruined pistes and uneven snow with bumps, moguls and stuff. Except that, I'd like it to be good in powder, like any AM board should be... And I would like it to be as lively, turny and light as possible ...if that's not contradictory to what I need from a board What board do you suggest? Prior 4WD, Donek Axxesss, Coiler AM, Pogo Impact Freecarver, or maybe some Nidecker, F2, Voelkl, Goltes or other board? Thank you P.S. I'm asking this because I don't have a chance to demo many boards Oh, forgot to mention, I'm 5'10'' and 165-170 lbs and I was thinking of a board about 170 cm
  18. So if I want to get a longer board (eff efge over 160) that I would use only for hero snow on glaciers, I should rather go for the one without a tail than the one with a rounded tail?
  19. I've been reading and posting on What are the pros & cons to a rounded tail..., but not to go too OT I started a new thread. If I got it right, rounded tail helps in uneven terrain... But I find a small board like Pogo Impact to be the best for non-perfect trails since it has no extra length in tail one has to deal with. And riding it in moguls really feels easier because of no extra weight in tail. Wouldn't you agree with me? Or is it just because Impact is extremely short and light? Maybe it wouldn't be the same with longer boards... I was never thinking of pros and cons of a rounded tail on longer boards. It's just that I came to conclusion that I really like riding Pogo Impact in uneven terrain.
  20. so you say rounded tail on longer boards just adds unwanted weight and has no benefits even on uneven terrain? i say longer boards because i'm thinking of getting a Prior Metal 187 or something similar...
  21. I' talked to Andrej http://www.sportpoint.si/ last winnter (I think he's the one who designs Goltes boards) and he had something like this on his board. As I reacll, he said that it's there to reduce the force on the very bindings area, and to spread them equaly to the area between the bindings. That should improove board's carving performances, but the drawback is that it's not ideal for racing since skidding performances of the board are worse. But maybe I missunderstood something :o
  22. Anybody ever seen one of these? http://www.xtasy-snowboards.de/
