  1. Looking for Deeluxe T225 mondo 28.0 in good shape with or without liners. Thanks!
  2. Not just one photo, but a bunch (thanks to Tom Bridge): https://1drv.ms/f/s!AgOB75atFMj1hINg0hBd0AVaouEquw No matter the conditions, closing day is a festive occasion, especially when the sun comes out!
  3. I second the appreciation of Ken being out again!!! The video was taken at Lester Park partly on the road and partly on some of the trails - I especially liked the running over the bridge bit! I'm patrolling at Spirit's final day today - more slarving than any else but still fun to be out! Russ
  4. Temps Wednesday and Thursday forecast for the mid 40's dropping to just below freezing each night; Friday is forecast to be sunny with temps close to 50...with a noon opening I'm guessing that it's going to start out pretty soft and go downhill (so to speak) from there...but hey, a ticket is only $30 - could be a nice day for sunscreen and softies! Russ
  5. Got out for a short session this afternoon; the inconsistency made for a challenge - some places were firm, others consisted of wet loose granular, and all variations in between. Marking behavior:
  6. 4-5" of new wet, heavy snow at my house this morning; 2-3" at Spirit. First few runs were sublime but by noon the temperature had gone up a few degrees and that new snow got sticky.....that plus a light drizzle made the afternoon challenging. Forecast for cold temperatures tonight so hopefully the weekend should be good! Russ
  7. Bright sun, very firm but carveable groom, and temps in the single digits that kept the throngs at bay made for a most enjoyable day of riding - one of those days when you just rocket around every turn! Hooked up with Dave (Lonbordin) for a couple of runs. Snow predicted Sunday night and Monday should make for a good week here in the northland. Kept seeing top of the line softboot carving throughout the day - found out later that there was a PSIA snowboard instructor clinic on the hill today. Bottom line: lots of sweet lines! Pond skimming was scheduled for later in the afternoon...I doubt that drew much of a crowd with the cold... Russ
  8. Joined BWD just after noon today in what turned out to be a lull in the traffic from the school group, the monoskiers, and the home-school classes. We got a few good runs in on the Express side before Dave called it a day with new boot liner issues. I went over to the Gandy side for an hour or so to escape the traffic; when I came back things had thinned out enough that unfettered fun could be had again. On one of my last runs down Double Jaw I followed a monoskier who carved some beautiful lines ahead of me; I made a point of giving him props at the maze. Russ
  9. Got out for a couple of hours this morning...yesterday's snow kept things a little slow even more so later in the morning as the sun got brighter. Best conditions were on Gandy and Bear Claw - Blue Ruin looked good from the chair but was rough and bumpy; Cinder Snapper was closed as were Juggler Joe and Timber Cruiser (being prepped for the Frosted Fatty this weekend). Oh yeah, Monoski Madness through Friday too. Russ
  10. I'll probably be able to join you around noon on Friday! Russ
  11. Sorry, but I can't help with the local perspective on this (mostly because I'm in Arizona....) Russ
  12. So if you are bigwavedave does she go by bigwavemimi? Either way I've got a comp pass with her name on it.
  13. Snow forecast for Tuesday then clear and cold - I'll be out on Thursday. Russ
  14. Got out for a few turns with Ken this morning - much better conditions than I expected, though I expect the heavy traffic later in the day took care of that. Russ
  15. More of the same conditions for today's patrol shift (including the rain); didn't even think about bringing out the hard boot kit. Russ
  16. I'll be out Thursday morning for a couple of hours to get a few turns in before conditions go sour.... Rust
  17. Photo was taken in the Lake County Demonstration Forest just north of Two Harbors where there are 7-8 miles of trails groomed for fat biking in a beautiful setting of mixed forest types. Trails groomed in Duluth for fat biking include Mission Creek, Piedmont, Hartley and Lester parks, and the Duluth Traverse. Enter 'COGGS Trails' in the Google machine for more details!
  18. No - today was fat biking day.
  19. Patroller Don and I were out for a couple of hours this afternoon; last night's snow freshened things up nicely. Flattish light but typical light weekday traffic let us have our way. Only bummer is that Juggler Joe is chopped up with small ramps again this year. I'll be out again Thursday afternoon. Russ
  20. I'd be surprised if they did - I don't ever recall seeing the snow guns moved back once a slope is finished. I'll be patrolling both evenings this weekend so will be able to give you an update; I'll be out Monday afternoon too. I have to travel for work the week of the 16th but would be all over a UP trip either of the next two weeks. Russ
  21. Patroller Don and I found similar conditions on Monday, plus the Duluth schools were still on break so it was busier than I expected. First outing In hard boots this season for both of us. Less new snow than expected though. At least we have fat biking as an alternative....... Russ
  22. I was out for a couple of hours on Wednesday morning (in softies again) - Ken was out on the Donek too. Lots of traffic as it was day 2 of the DSAC camp. Runs 6-12 were open and snowmaking continues. Some natural snow since then; I think you'll be fine. Good news is that the open is 9am on Jan 1 according to the website. I'll be out on Monday and Ken is planning the same. Russ
