  1. Wow, there is no binding reinforcement. Its just t-nuts into the wood, I wonder if its like this just because its a boarder cross board meant for a normal soft boot bindings, not hard boots? Or if its the way Prior makes all of there boards. I know other company's reinforce there inserts with additional fiberglass or plastic to keep boards from ripping apart. Glad your OK!

Not sure. It was my understanding that this board was intended to be ridden with hardboots and that the guy it was made for was pretty big and strong. It has plate binding marks showing a larger stance than mine so it had seen hardboots before I got it.

  2. Ripped the front binding out of my Prior BX yesterday. Luckily I didn't get hurt. It was a used board, a custom

metal Prior BX made for Mort Nyberg and I was the 3rd owner. There was no warning before it broke, no obvious

distress under the bindings. The bindings were a little loose earlier in the day so I took them off and made an

adjustment to my cant plates and then retightened as usual. It was very cold yesterday so I wasn't really

surprised that they were loose. I rode the rest of the day, even ran two rescue toboggans with no issues.

Last run of the day I was on a mellow blue run in a fast heelside turn on icy conditions. The board washed

out and some where in the process of sliding on my ass I realized that I was no longer completely attached to

the board. I always wondered what the guts of a metal board looked like but I really didn't want to know this

    badly.

  3. I just destroyed my 2nd board in two seasons and need something pretty quick so I don't have to tele ski or ride soft boots

for the rest of the season. Looking for something in the low to mid 170 range, 19.5 to 22mm waist with a tail kick preferred.

Built for 200+ lbs would be awesome too. Donek Axxess, Prior 4x4, Coiler AM or similar. Will consider other boards though.

    Thanks much!

  4. I agree about the distance. There may well be someone at Snowshoe that does a good job, I'm just not aware of them. To be honest I don't make it up there more than a day or two a season, and haven't looked for boots there. I can say for sure there aren't any bootfitters in Canaan Valley. Might be someone at Wisp or High Mountain Sports in Deep Creek. The Timberline Race team paid a guy travel to Canaan for a few days last season from Vermont to fit boots for them and I believe it was open to the public as well.

  5. Upper White Lightning is a lot of fun when its groomed out to its full width. It hasn't been there this year.

Lower Almost Heaven is a nice lower angle carver too. Its probably going to be soft for the rest of the "winter".

Glad you enjoyed your visit despite the poor snow year. The lodge and lifts leave a bit to be desired but the people

and skiing make up for it in my opinion. Ski School is always top notch. Let me know before you come up next season

and I'll hook you up with some lift tickets.

I found Timberline's Twister and Upper Dew Drop would be good carving slopes but I don't think the slopes will be in any better condition than last Monday until it gets some dump, which I don't believe it will. But I found Timberline's staff were very customer friendly and has well organized ski school. I will come back for sure next season with my kids.
  6. Sorry I missed this post. Yeah, Canaan is in rough shape. Their snowmaking has been really poor.

Timberline is lucky to be in the shape they are. Its really been a tough season. There have been

some awesome days but they usually only lasted a day. You had to be ready to get there at a

moments notice. Still some decent spring days ahead before the season ends though. Let me know

if you make it back up. I'll be there at least the weekend of the 17th for sure.

Rode Timberline & Canaan Valley after few inches on last Saturday.

I expected little more snow and better conditions than Southern PA resorts but not really. Timberline was ok but Canaan Valley was not in good condition. Temp. went down to 22' overnight but they didn't make snow to cover dirts on weekday. A lot of icy spots and dirts were found. Only 50% of slopes were rideable. Due to the condition, only rode a rock board.

Anyway, it was great for my 4 years old. I put him on ski school for 2 days and he now ski and is stoked. Once I find him comfortable on downhill, I'll introduce snowboarding.

  7. I have 2 nearly complete sets of Clicker HB's. They are yours for the price of shipping.

I bought a pair of Clicker HBs last month that didn't have discs. I have plenty of flat clickers and thought the discs would be identical but the HB discs are bigger.

So if anyone has any spare HB discs please let me know.....

    Thank you!

  8. Scarpa heat mouldable liners are much lower volume than others, also very easy to slip your foot into.

I've had good luck with Scarpa branded Intuitions in my Heads. They are the full wrap version, found them online for about $45 so they were hard to pass up. Good heel retention, slightly taller cuff and comfy fit.
