  1. I rode tonight from 5-8pm. Crowds we huge, but thankfully all leaving. I agree with the inconsistancy....but I found it to be sweet as h*ll. The sides were sugary the center little ran off, but easy to crack through. I'm just pissed that zero g (the only run with some slope to it) is closed to races. Very tempted to blow the fence and rip through the gates.....LOL.....maybe tomorrow. Didn't see any other carvers.
  2. if all goes well I'll be there about the same time
  3. I still haven't bought yet. I spoke with a guru at my local shop today actually. He said that the carbons are not as good as they should be. He said the P1 will do just as good and save money and repairs. I will bump over to the other thread and read where your goin with the nideckers.
  4. yeah that's what she said...lol
  5. delaminated? thats common with this board? I haven't heard.... I want this board but this delaminating thing is throwin me off. Anyone care to explain?
  6. I must check the what the width will be at that. I first put it a 19 center to center riding slightly on the back of the board. After riding a bid, felt as though I could go out more. Move my front foot up one set leaving me pretty centered. Had much more control. I remember back in the beginning of hardboots......I was at a 17" stance width. Was told to widen it for more control.....and up to 19 I went, and WOW...sweet improvement...my 185 I go to 21". I can defintiely see wide stance for better freeriding. I don't wanna fine tune before learning all my basics. So I will ride a few times before I adjust again. I don't know about you...but when I get into tweakin...some time I just tend to go alittle beyond....lol!!! I give an update soon. Besides this weekend will be dedicated to the alpine. Happy New year! Joe
  7. I decided to go and demo for a day. I first rode a 162customX with burton bindings, I think Flows...they weren't the c60s. Rode angles of 35 and 0. The x seemed to stiff for the riding I was wanting to do. Next rode with the c60s(which took some convincing to get the guy to take them out the box). We put these on a Solamon Storm 164. Change the angles to 25 and -3... Holy Sh*t.....much better.....I was still a dork...but now I was amble to flex the board and carve it much easier. I also liked the -3 making it easier to get to switch without feeling like I was going the wrong way. Thanks all for your advise. Especially Rob Stevens I will continue demoing until I find the sweet spot. Then I can have the best of both worlds. Oh yeah - Rob - very true in what you say about mixing. Any time I referred back to the Alpine riding style it wasn't pretty - lol
  8. I was there at 8am....it was just as u said. The little rain chased most anf I road solid until 12......after that it was bump and jump mash potatoes. So home I went. The legs were feeling worked....definitley a ride not wasted
  9. can you tell me if your getting snow or rain there?
  10. I've been riding hard boots for 11 years. Never had softies. My wife now rides softies and I decided to get a softie set-up to switch it up a little and ride with her. Of course my hard boot set up will never be put second! So I got a great deal on Burton Ions. Rode with some rental board and bindings last year. I ride regular and enjoy riding switch too. I'm not one for the park and like to carve on the softie set up also. What's the binding I should use? What size and name board? Best angles to ride at? Should I get into heal and toe lift and canting? I have a size 9 boot, I weigh 180, height 5"7"
  11. Anyone ride blue today? How was it? Planning on bein there bright and early tomorrow.
  12. Erik - You are the man. I would like to give one a test ride. I am off all week. Been meaning to ride over at South. Give me a day and I'll be there. I actually have my eye on the pogo...rode one last year....thinkin maybe sell a couple boards and I can justify 1200 to the wife. If that 170 works out, well I'll be calling Madd Mike. Thanks for the offer. Talk soon. Joe
  13. I am on the look out...Thanks!!!! If you see anything give me a shout. Happy Holiday!
  14. Funny the madd170 was what had come to mind after reading through alot of threads. I weigh 180 and foot size is 27.5
  15. I also have been taught by my Friend Rich. We now have been riding together for 8 years. It's super awesome when you can get in a zone with another and actually know the exact turns and hits before the other takes it. It's like having a dancing partner who actually doesn't step on your feet. Having a buddy to ride with just brings the level up a few. The smiles are bigger, the laughs are harder, the competition is stronger - and the endorphines are flying! Good thread jt! Writing that was almost like taking a run with my buddy
  16. I have been carving for 10 years now. My quiver includes Oxygen 157 Prime 160 Alp 163 - favorite POW F2 Silberpfeil 168 - favorite all mountain(bumps & trees) F2 Speedster RS 173 - favorite go fast volant GS173 - metal top sheet - favorite overall ripper Donek 185 FC - favorite big mountain I am looking for a board that will turn as tight as, and hook up as well as the volant. AND NOT AS HEAVY!!!! This is my second season on this particular volant....the first one I owned split on the 3rd season. Can any one give any suggestions. Especially if you have ridden the volant.
