  1. I havesomething you might be interested in,I'll email you with details
  2. The buzz has not even worn off from my last carving session and the jonesing has begun. I can here the whispers,"when are we going up again?huh?" Even if I wanted to ride anymore today, my legs would scream in protest, and I would skid and flail hoplessly down the mountain. As the week progresses, the voice becomes more insistant, and I find myself checking weather and snow reports, hoping that the last fresh snow falls no later than Friday morning, and that there will be sunshine and groomers for the weekend. As sick as it may seem, powder has become a dirty word in my vocabulary. If I am lucky, I won't have to wait until Sunday to ride again. On Saturday the alarm will go off at 5, and I will race to get to I-70 before the traffic gets to heavy. Finally at 8:30 the chairs start running, and my board hits the snow. I am sated. For now....
  3. had the same thing happen to me today, and it seemed that each time it happend I was fully extended ie; stiff legged without any angulation. My biffs seem to come when I get excessivly tired, or forget to do the basics, like bending my knees. hope I was able to provide some insight, mario
  4. understandable. there are a few hardbooters over there,if you run into a guy named pat, stick with him, he is a fountain of carving knowlage. have a rippin' day mario
  5. could you change to loveland? I'm a newbie and I will be riding with at least one vet. The more the merrier!
  6. I have a couple pairs of flows on my all mountain boards, and I love them! They are nice and comfy, you can " strap in" on the lift, and you can carve with them. They can be a pain in the butt to get out of if you are doing any off piste hiking however.
  7. You are a sick indvidual, but I don' t mean that in a bad way.....
  8. I had been watching a few carvers at my local resort for a few seasons, and I thought " man that looks really cool, maybe I should give that a try" . At the end of last seaon, I went to ebay, and after several attempts, I was able to get outfitted for a couple hundred bucks. I have pretty much outgrown my begginer board and bindings, (Rossi 159, Burton plates) and am in the process of upgrading. What I have found to be the coolest thing about carving, are the carvers themselves. This site is amazing, no attitudes or pretentions, and plenty of great advice. A big thanks to all of you veterans, keep posting, and thanks to Pete, Derek, and Pat for all of the help with my carving. See you in aspen at ses, mario
  9. I agree with skategoat. In colarado we are blessed with several non destination resorts that sell season passes for under $300 a season. I vote with my bucks by supporting the little guy as often as I can.
  10. Stommit v., usually happens when a skier, snowboarder, biker ect commits to a line, then chickens out at the last possible second, usually resulting in a most hienous faceplant. A combination of stopping and committing ex."I was going to drop that ledge, but I stommited " By the way, does this look broken?
  11. I think I am 10 or 11 so far this season, my first as a carver
