  1. The pitch off of the high speed lift is good for carving for about 3/4's of the way down. Then its flat at the bottom to the lift.

I didn't check any of the runs to the east side of the hill, I was only there for one evening.

  2. Great job on the picture Trent!

    John has the video up:

  3. Good snow and good conditions. Karl, Zach and myself were out on hardboots. Zach did a great job, first day on hardboots! The gentleman with the Asym Burton Prime was out as well, getting a lot better too!

Only spot of ice was on the top of Warners.

Saw BobD out two planking it. Bob you really should of gotten a few runs on a board :)

  4. it's that time again! let's go out and play!!:biggthump

same drill as in years past - skip a day of work / school / family / general butt picking to come out and dig some trenches.

    weds. feb 25th, afton alps, 9:30am - ?.

request the time off now, and we'll see you on the hill.

(sorry, i'll post the recycled usual verbage when i have more time).

    Trent,

In your email you have Jan 25, in the post Feb 25. We going for both?:eplus2:

  5. Since the snow piling up I decided to run home for lunch and come back with a different board selection. Brought out the big dog, Lib Tech Doughboy and a Burton Custom 163 both with Catek OS1s on them. I rode the Doughboy for about 45 minutes, the thing can go through anything and its length (193 I think) allows for you to carry quite a bit of speed. I then switched over to the Custom for the rest of my time out. After a couple of tweaks to the binding setting I was very happy with this board with plates on it. Was in and out of the deeper stuff onto the cord and it worked well. I am thinking of just retiring my softboots and just ride hardboots on my wide boards for the soft days.

  6. This morning was good. I woke up hoping to see the 1-2 inches of new snow, only to see my dull looking yard.

Flat light morning. There was a little peak of sun around 10:30 only to cloud up again.

The snow on the other hand was really great. I think the humidity really softened things up. Carves were about 4 inches deep and could hold them on anything. I actually did a heel side over one of the rollers on skiers right. It was kind of a euro/nothing below me/drive board into snow and pop up turn.

Not sure if I'll make it out tomorrow, probably depends on what the weather actually does.

  7. So, how did it go? Spring like?

    See any alpine riders?

Hopefully it is nice again Tuesday.

    Bryan

I lasted about an hour and a half and called it quits. The first couple of runs weren't to bad, found just a little bit of ice. Then it softened up and got bumped up quit.

I am going to pass on tomorrow. Going to run out to the coast.
