  1. Which route would you go? I really lean towards the Heads because of the buckles. I am pretty new after just finishing my first season on the hard boots, 15+ years on soft boots.

I currently have an older set of Burton Reactors on SnoPro Race bindings. I am thinking of the upgrading the bindings to TD2 SI.

    Thanks for the help.

And I would like to ride fairly aggresively. And most of my time is spent on the small hills of the midwest.

If I remember correctly one of the reasons the government land use resorts have to close is because of the animals. The land is breeding grounds and the animals go into heat in the spring.

So some resorts close early so the deer can get some!

  3. I started for a number of reasons:

One because it is the coolest looking thing on the hill.

Second because we don't have powder days in Minnesota.

Three because I have foot drop and things are working so well on the soft boots.

Now if I could just get used to being in hard boots. Me feet are still cramped, and its been over 24 hours.

  4. I have been riding this year with an ACL fixed with the hamstring in Dec of 03. About a year since surgery, though I might not be the best one to talk to. In Dec of 02 I had the PCL, LCL and Poplateus (sp?) replaced too.

From what I have read getting the ACL moving again is the best thing to do. I depends on your surgeon. I was in physical therapy and there were people on the old recovery schedule and I was on the new one. Needless to say at 4 weeks I was out and about like nothing even happened, those on the old way were still using crutches.

From what I have read and heard the ACL is pretty minor as far as ligaments go. Since I don't have any that are my own I really don't think they are that mine (okay the ACL is mine, just from a differnent part).

If I was having problems with the MCL I would go and get it checked out, like was said before it might be something else.

    Just my $.02

  5. Here is a pic of the Nitro

The hard boots seem to help with the physical limitation. Healside turns with the softboots are pretty tough when there is no lift in the foot.

As far as the boots fitting, they seem perfect, went through all of the fitting of the shell and the liner. Only thing there is probably getting some superfeet customs made.

    Thanks for the help,

    Erik

  6. Over the past few years I have gathered up everything for an alpine board. I was just wondering if this might be the wrong setup for a newbie.

The board is a Nitro GTR 163 Wide (not sure on year 99-00?)

    Bindings are Snowpro Race

Boots are Burton Reactors (no clue on year) purple w/ grey buckles.

I have been riding for 15 plus years on soft boots and am trying to make the jump to hard boots. I had some serious injuries that have left me a little lacking in some areas (bad knees and a paralyzed ankle). So I figured I might try to do the hard boot side.

Any input would be greatly appriciated.

  7. I am going out for the first time in a long time with the hard boots. I didn't think about the leash. Then I remembered I always kept a spare shorty in my shell. Needless to say I didn't have one in there, I had three of them. Now I have one mounted to the rear bale to the boot. Shouldn't be any flapping with that setup.
