  1. Sitting here and my mind is racing with all the "S" words that I could use to completely derail that post.....LOL
  2. Ian and I are heading to Cascades Thursday evening if anyone cares to join us.
  3. Depending on how you set up your bindings you can provide some degree of safe play in the interface. The Cateks were nice for the adjustability. You can have most of that with the TD's, and the security of no single point failure mode. Once you have been riding a while and get most of that sorted out you really no longer need to play with them that much. Yes I am a big Guy. Yes I ride hard. I was bending my VSR today into about 4m circles. If you've ever seen it you would know that is no easy feat. Not once did the issue of binding failure cross my mind. I had more concern for how long my $6k engine build is going to hold together on the drive home. Just sayin.
  4. I was there last night from 7 till close. Spent most of the night on the far side carving up the steep bits. I saw one other carver on our last run up the quad but was on my way into the bar after that run. Didn't see any sign of you Brian. You sure you were at Cascades.....? ;-)
  5. Suck it up princess!! I skipped tonight. I'm game for tomorrow night.
  6. Had a great time today. Looking forward to riding there again. Was great to see old faces and make the acquaintance of new ones. Next time we park on the North Side and hit those runs for the morning. That way if the lift breaks again we won't have to worry about making it back to the other side.
  7. For future reference never go to Cascades on a Friday night...kid straightliners everywhere!
  8. Received mine a few days ago. Thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Coin well spent. I will echo a few comments from above. Jack's Sugarloaf article made it personal as Powdahbonz had said. That was a fantastic trip. I would be willing to chip in an extra couple bucks next year for sturdier packaging. The postal service was not as gentle as one might have hoped. Obviously not carvers. ;-P
  9. Heading to Vorlage on Saturday morning if anyone wants to ride for a bit. Apparently I have been granted a kitchen pass for Sunday so I'm in for a road trip.

    Eces Q & A

There are people who are NOT meatatarians? What craziness is this?!?! ;-D
  11. I rode Vorlage yesterday morning and I have to say it was pure ****e. It was as bad as a week ago was good. Unfortunate really as the crowds were sparse. Glare ice and impossible to put an edge into. Just means I need a new board I guess.:D
  12. Yeah at times I was even one of them. Ohhh my poor belly LOL.
  13. Nope, not effective at all. Perhaps Ian could comment on the penguin we saw last night?
  14. For future reference, ice rash on your belly is just as bad as road rash. Just sayin.
  15. Ok so I've paid. Now stop smothering me already!!! Geesh. :D
  16. Ian and I are just heading back from Cascades. His quote is " Its a thin layer of granular snow over machine groomed ice". Translation... It's carveable but hard and fast. Choose gentler slopes. We rode the back side all night and had an absolute blast.

  19. http://www.catskiing.net/default.htm Blomidon Cat Skiing. Website looks a little dated so I'm not sure if Glenn is still in business. When I patrolled at Marble Glenn would often invite some of us along for a day of riding and babysitting. If you had a good group the days were awesome. Free boarding and getting fed too!! Just keep in mind Cat skiing in NL does not imply waist deep powder as it would in BC. Our snow is far to heavy for that.
  20. I'm in for Cascades. You driving? ;-D Any chance you could make a Sunday trip to Mont Blanc. My Saturdays are all booked.
  21. I know I know!! Have to wait till I have the diagnosis for my car which should be this week. Hard to justify to the wife taking a boarding trip when I could be facing a $6k engine rebuild 4 months after the last $6k engine build.
