  2. I watched parts of the contest and these guys are amazing. It's scary sometimes.

I surfed a few times and loved it but but not in my wildest dream I would think about a wave like this, I can only imagine the carnage. Anything with a sand bar is nice and safe for me.

I guess it's like carving on ice a lot of people wouldn't even imagine doing it but it has become second nature for most of us. At least us on the Ice coast!

  3. wow how many times are people going to post the same link .. it's already been 3 times to this same surfing dog in less than a month !

    A) people don't really look at what other people post...

    B) people are really in snow denial

  4. For the record, two college buddies and I invented "Extreme Walking" in 1992. :D .

Too bad you didn't get credit Jack ! You would be a millionaire selling all freestyle walking gear ;)

We probably all did it. In school in the early 1990's since we couldn't skate we used to line up the desks and "board slide" to 360 and all possible variation of them, using all the feature of the school we could find.

  5. I'm on the lighter side also 158-160 and 6 feet tall. I like riding longer boards 178 - 183. I tried many boards a few years ago trying to find what I liked and not, most of them always felt too stiff for me.

Things changed when I ordered my first custom board that was adjusted to my weight and what I liked. Wow what a difference, more expensive but well worth the money.

  6. they are still a company. It was like that the year before and the year before that one so this has been going on for a while with no changes.

I'm sure when Jeff or anyone at Catek are buying something for their personal use snowboard or any other stuff and they need service or parts they rightfully expect service if needed and all of us expect the same. I don't want free parts, I want to buy what is broken.

  7. I changed bike this year and ended up buying a FS 26... shoping for a new bike was a real pain. tried a few bikes and really disliked the 29ers. I didn`t like how slow it was to react and the handeling. my suggestion is if you can get to demos and try bikes it`s the best route.

  8. Last winter a piece of my catek FR2 broke. That particular piece isn't listed on their web site. I tried contacting them but haven't heard from them in a few weeks.

So what are the odds of getting a replacement part for the bindings ? I've been reading in the past years that they are terrible at customer service... I guess I'm finding out the hard way. That is just awfull service and it's not right.

Maybe someone on bol has this part.

    thanks for the input.

  9. I have here a very good condition Prior Pow stick for sale. The board was bought in 2009 and it was used for 2 trips out west.

The board has been passed on the machine once this year, the edges are in great shape and the base has a small repair 1/2 long the rest is in good shape.

A small scratch on the topsheet at the nose and the rest of the topsheet is in good shape also.

Board is 400$ + shipping and paypal fees.

  10. I rarely buy beer anymore since I started brewing. With experience now my beers are starting to taste more and more like I want. I have 2 regular beers that I brew. My pale Ale and my porter are both exactly how I like them. I'm still working on an IPA for the rotation.

I buy once in a while beers that I've been wanting to taste and more often than anything else end up disapointed. Once a while I fall in love.

La Vache Folle Double IPA is an amazing beer from here. Brewed very limited with only 1 hop and they change hops everytime so you never know. It's pretty hard to find so when I see some I buy some !

The other picture is from a tasting day of my Pale Ale at the cottage. Pretty nice setting !
