Once you get some of the other things in line, consider this. One thing that helped me signifcantly last year was holding my elbows up during turns. For example, on heelside I hold my left elbow up level with my shoulder and let my forearm dangle straight down (opposite of making a hand signal to turn on a bicycle, which is up) and for toeside do the same except with my right arm.

This helped me keep upright and not drag my hands when getting low in a carve. Raising the elbow seems to help me set my edge better because it makes my hips rotate to where they need to be. It was a tip given during a short lesson I took last year.

Overexaggerate to start. It may seem and look a bit silly when you first start, but it has helped me a good bit. When I catch my turns not being as good as normal, its typically because I am letting my elbows drop.

  2. Folks

Just looking for some input on different styles of riding. I know many of you have quivers to select from and I am still building mine. I currently have an AM Donek Axis 182 that took the place of my delaminating Volant 173 GS Race, which I still ride. It (Axis)rode well for me when I was in Okemo last year but have not been back on it this season, nor do I think I will be since picking up the Sabertooth RT 173 GS. This thing rocks and I cant get over how much of a difference it made for me compared to the Volant. I was looking to complete my minimal quiver with that Pogo 162 that was listed as my SL board, but had difficulty deciding if I wanted to part with $750 having never ridden and SL board. But I'm sick that I didnt buy it, especially after feeling how the RT rode. Can't get that damn board outta my head.

To get to the point, just looking to see what type folks like to ride most often and why and what boards may support you addiction to certain riding types.

I love my new RT, but where I ride tends to get crowded and meatgates are not use to the turns of a carver where I ride and I dont want t-boned.

It seems most folks tend to stick within the GS and FC style of riding, which I love but I'm interested in the SL style as well. Is it worth getting a board for that style or stick to the GS/FC style?

  3. I wish I could definitively say yes they were sold, that would mean they were in my possesion. He and I exchanged emails late one night and agreed to make a deal the following day and I havent heard back from him.

Hoping he still calls or writes.

PS Bill, if you are out there drop me a line.

  4. Looking for one of those as well, except the whole enchilada. I'm picking up a set of TD1 SI's and I am only going with the rear heel for two set ups so I dont need to keep changing bindings on boards. Anyone else out there have what I need, heel, cable, etc for a Raichle 223?

    Thanks

  5. Can't thank Ray enough for being patient with me. He held on as long as he could and when I finally said to myself, "Hell with it, buy it", it was gone. :smashfrea

If I were single, another kid wasnt on the way and it wasnt the x-mas season, I would have bought it, the day it was first posted. It looks like it will rip and if I am ever out there, I will look you up. The closest I may get this season is Colorado.

The fact that it was still 75 degrees here in PA two weeks ago didnt help either.

I hope you cant stand how it rides ;) Just kidding. I hope another comes up on the radar that I can snatch, just two things caught my eye, the camber and the graphic and Ray's feedback on the board.

I know people dont wanna read this crap, but I am suffering from non post purchase dissidence. Kicking myself for not buying it. :freak3: ARGH!!!

Get a few turns on it for me.

Hated to see this one go, especially after I decided today after all my himming and hawing to buy it, but I snooze, I lose.

Brian, I hope you enjoy the board and if it doesnt pan out for you , I am interested.

    Ray

If anything else comes up on the radar, let me know. I know I drug my feet earlier on this one, but after riding a diiferent board earlier this week that let me feel how a board can ride, I knew I wanted the Pogo and what it could do. Should have emailed you Monday night instead of waiting until tonight.

    Keeping the eyes peeled.

Take Care and thanks again for the consideration

Picture yourself about 4 inches tall and riding across a golf course putting green and you fall headfirst into the cup with the flagstick still in it. Now get out with snow choking you, flag stick in your way and your board clamped to your feet that you cant reach. It's not fun or easy.

Sorry I'm a old Steve Martin fan when he use to do stand up, he had some jokes he use talk about "getting small" and going inside vaccuum cleaners.

  8. I have considered the stomp use recently, but never have used in 20+ years of riding. But an Idea came to mind this week. This wouldnt work for those of us that use the rear front binding holes or the front rear binding holes ( the ones towards the center of the board)

Get a piece of sheet metal or possible road sign type material and cut a piece to what size you like , but allow enough to drill holes that line up with binding holes (front or back) to be able to attach with regular binding screws. Bend over the sharp edges and pound flat with a hammer or gring smooth and then place one of the foam type stomp pads on the bottom of the metal, especially at edges to eliminate scratching during board flex( this may need periodically changed as it wears) and then place whatever type of stomp pad you want on top.

This makes it removable using the binding screws.

I havent tried it and it may not work for all applications, but just an idea.

  9. Hey Bobby,

How's it going. This is exactly was I was looking for last season after the ECES last year and seeing Glenn rip on his. I'd be on it, but i have another SL on the radar I'm considering. I'll keep this one in mind, but let it go , if someone else is interested.

I also picked up an Osin 4807 at the end of last season, after seeing yours. Havent ridden yet though, still in plastic.

Hope all is well and maybe see you at ECES this year and looking for some accomodations like we had last year that Pat hooked us up with.

Where are you located in PA. Interested and if I can save on not shipping and Paul doesnt strike a deal with you. I am in Easton. Let me know. I have friends all over PA, so even if I'm not near you, I may have someone who is that could hold it for me if we work something out.

I was holding off, but teh graphics hooked me.
