  1. That is a Serotta Fork F3 with 8.3 stiffness., Yes I spec'd the parts, River City out of Portland measured me about 6 weeks ago, ordered the frame and fork to my size, and then built the bike. It is a Ritchey carbon seat post. The Brooks I bought 1 month ago from Wallingford Bike , I have the Professional and the B17, running the B-17 right now on the Serotta, the Professional is now on the Sekai. I still like my Sekai and will be adding fenders to it for rain days, I am considering Full Wood Fenders - real wood- they look so nice. So far the B-17 is very comfortable -- but I think it is due to my 215 lbs - which in MO will break in a Brooks sooner than a 140 lb dude.
  2. Close - 6'3" with long legs and long arms. The Legend frame is a 63cm -- my old Sekai is a 65cm frame.
  3. three for now.. left room to shorten it by one later in the spring and after I get used to such a position change from my old bike.
  4. Picked up my new ride Sat... Thought I'd show it off. It is a Serotta Legend Ti with Mavic wheels and Michelins. Ultegra and a fine Brooks saddle. I replaced the photo -- the other was quite distorted due to *7$%tty Camera.

  6. I used MGI Photosuite to do that -- comes with a Sony digital camera. You might even find it a free download here. If not find someone who has a digital camera and use their software that cam with the camera. http://www.mgisoft.com/products/photosuite/index.asp There many others out there that do the same thing.. Anyway open the photo from which you want to extract a portion copy it ( located under EDIT) and then paste it where you want on the new blank file, repeat 2X , position the cut photo and resize as you wish. The more time you have to play with pixls and size the better it will look. It is easy as sex
  7. The first one makes me hungry http://www.dynamism.com/sushidisk/pricing.shtml I bet you Justin A already has one of these! http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/warfare/8bc4/]
  8. Can you cut a paste the picture(s) you want onto a new file? This one is crude but does this demo what you are asking?
  9. "Sounds like someone has a case of the Mooundays" Office Space quote of the day.
  10. The curiosity was started when a golfing buddy said " I saw The Departed last night and it was a great movie". I can not put my finger on it and maybe some of the posters here can.. I liked the Godfather and GFII , but hated Departed. Not much difference in the two regarding violence.
  11. Maybe I am wrong but I thought it was a story copied from a fictional Hong Kong ---Infernal Affairs
  12. To some who like his movies -- John Wayne flicks usually tempered the violence with a little humor to take the edge off. Today the industry tends to over use special effect to get the opposite reaction.. But again it is my opinion and I do not expect others to always agree.
  13. Justin-- maybe more to my objection in this day of so much real life violence and crime, the industry awards Best Picture to a movie that glorifies/promotes/advocates violence. Violence sometimes is needed to get a point or impact made to the viewing audience - for example - Saving Private Ryan, Freedom Writers, even Forrest Gump, Shindler's List, GodFather, Dances with Wolves, Ben Hur - all top notch great movies with violence. Maybe I missed it but what was the value added point of The Departed?
  14. I have heard this and maybe this site can shed some light on the subject of Coke, AKA Breakfast of Champions. http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/acid.asp
  15. Hopefully "Freedom Writers" makes it to the top this year. One great movie.
  16. Maybe I am just getting too old and not liking all the violence in today's movies - Tarantino's Kill Bill for example. Maybe if our "real" world was not so violent and paralleling the movie set (or is the movie set paralleling real life ) it wouldn't be so bad but it is almost like adding fuel to the fire. Again. it is just my opinion and I do not expect others to have the same.
  17. But they did give him one - for best director -- I have no problem with that. As I said above the acting and directing - great!
  18. Can anyone enlighten me as how or why such a violent movie “The Departed “ won best picture? I thought it was one of the worst movies I have seen this year. Sure acting , directing all that was great – movie story, plot , scenes, blood, cruelty, and executions – that was bottom of the barrel crap but of course that is just my opinion.
  19. Art, I have been cleaning up my bike and I have never seen so much grime and grease transfered to my brakes and wheels than this ride. I have taken my wheels off and cleaned the heck out them but it looks like the brakes are toast - too much crap embedded in the rubber. Did you or have you the same problem??
  20. I rode my 25yr or so old Sekia 10 speed-- needed a few more gears for a couple of those hills, but I felt pretty good considering the conditions. The ride along the water with the wind in your face was a pisser. My two other fellow riders were drafting behind me but I did not know it till we stopped and they told me. We started around 9:30-- 9:45 .. stopped at each of the big stops for a little pee break and drink. The Chile sure tasted good at the finish line. My new bike is being built this week and I pick it up on Sat the 3rd. -- Hope we have some dry weather soon to ride it.
  21. I should have posted before the ride to see if you or other Seattle area riders were going to do it. Anyway -- great day but wet, cold and of course very hilly, legs are feeling it today and my bike is sooooo dirty. http://www.cascade.org/EandR/chilly/index.cfm
  22. That is simply good ole Iowa corn fed Gator!
