  1. Have fun in your kayak race... I'm putting the rack on my car for a summer of flyfishing out of the canoe! have safe good time on the water!
  2. as for testing the likes of Phil, DFJ and others... you are simply showing your lack of respect for the game. phil has paid his dues, and has every right to make suggestions to make things work. perhaps you didnt realize how much he has given to the usasa without ever asking in return... other than a late registration or an early awards ceremony?? no big deal. i can see your frustration in missing the podium by 1 spot. Hell, i'd rather finish 10th than 4th. I know this. look at Master Men's Slalom results from this year. I'm not complaining. Some "old pro" that used to race FIS took my position? I think not. he's a regular guy like me who still loves the sport. Do you think Jimmy is complaining? He's not. I'll tell you why... He's been doing this sport since the early years (1988). I spoke to him today. It's no big deal. racing is a series of highs and lows. of joys and pitfalls. character is how you deal with each high and each low. Jimmy has character- and RESPECT from his fellow racers, coaches and peers. Whining and complaining will only make it harder for you gain the respect of your fellow racers. Something to think about when you break a boot at the top of the course, need a screw driver to adjust a binding, or realize the rotobrush is back at the room (maybe even in reno if your Phil)... Remember- we all race for a reason. That reason is simple. In racing there are no excuses. you race, you get a time- no subjectivity. that's the real deal. you're time was slower. your position was lower. end of story. there's so much more to snowboard racing when you realize that winning is only 90% of the game. we all want to win. if you dont want to win, why show up. keep in mind, the other 10% out there is alot of fun. I can only hope you get to enjoy it someday. the 14 year old kids on my team already understand this concept. I hope a grown man like yourself will too. while winning is a focus, it cannot be the only thing your focused on, or you will be one disappointed racer. for every race each one of us has won, there's 10 out there we've lost. it's what is learned, and who you've met along the way that keeps you coming back. you can continue to pick apart what each and every person is saying, you can continue to quote parts of a reply, but my god man- you're old. it's about fun times. If you choose to continue your USASA trials and tribulations, perhaps you need to realize this kind of stuff can happen. Old men that used to rip, can- and will come out of the wood work and kick some a$$ from time to time. this time it was on your nickel. that's racing. Good luck to the guy who originally posted a question about racing. Hopefully you will not have to deal with guys like Wavechaser crying about losing. If you do, may i suggest finding other racers who get the concept to hang out with at the top of the hill. You'll have a much better time, and maybe even get an invite to join the "gestapo" or "our little club." Enough.
  3. why continue th pi$$ing match here? give up on it man. say something positive or go somewhere else. we dont need you trashing every thread on BOL. Grow up or go away.
  4. I ride the Raichle AF 700's in a size 26.5, and i wear a size 9 street shoe on average. withthe thermoflex liners you can get away with it... is your son still growing? if so, a 26.5 would not be an issue...
  5. if you are within 2-3 hours of denver, the Copper Moutain Series with USASA would be an excellent choice for you. They have good riders that you could probably learn alot from as well...
  6. Just wanted to say it was great to see everyone at tahoe.. Hope all made it outta there safely, or had fun riding freshies on saturday after the party.
  7. Sorry for the delay guys. the bindings have been sold. i have another pair that if chibz doesnt take, i'll email you directly to let you know if they are available. i'll know by tuesday! Thanks.
  8. ahhhh mate! you sold the sticks! i was interested in getting back on the coiler train. i would have traded you a donek 182 for 'em...
  9. Noah- I'm back in the hunt for nationals. THe team came through, and i'm out there. see you sunday.
  10. Julian- They are "lifters" or risers, that allow increased edge angle. I ma in the process of making sets similar to the kessler set ups you saw. basically they are dampening layers of urethane, followed by titanal or aluminum alloy. I saw you at Lake Placid, but didnt realize it was you... I was one of the forerunners!
  11. TD 1's for sale. I will include 1 three (3) degree lift/cant plate and 2 six (6) degree plates with it. You will need hardware, as I replaced the mounting screws with longer ones to fit my custom made coiler with a thicker topsheet. These bindings are used, but still very reliable and rideable. The orange duct tape and nylon on the toe bails is to prevent my Raichle AF 700's from sliding around. No set screws, as they were wearing a hole in my boots! First $115 takes 'em. That price includes US Postal Shipping. email me at neilsunday@aol.com
  12. Noah- It's possible I may be out for monday through Friday. Not Sure at this point yet. I'll know by Friday what and if I'm going or not. Our team will still be there... -neil
  13. Phil- It was good to see you at Lake Placid. Please keep me in the loop on this camp, as I am cancelling my USASA Nationals Plans. if you have an email list, please add me to it: neilsunday@aol.com Myself and another guy are very interested in training with you at Copper. Thanks- Neil
  14. For your viewing pleasure... 1st pic is Rosey Fletcher 2nd pic is Tyler Jewell vs. Andreas Promegger 3rd pic is USSA Flag Flying High.
  15. Nice looking board- looks like what Anton Pogue had been trying to achieve with his Tinkler GS Board. Is the top plate titanal? How is the flex of this thing- compared to say a coiler race carve or donek GS board?
  16. I'll be there coaching and competing- Master Men. Ski Roundtop Race Club qualified 6 that should all be going.
  17. USASA SACTIONED. Mid Atlantic Snowbaord Series Championships!!! This weekend, two slaloms on Saturday, two GS's on Sunday. 32 gate SL, and 27 gate GS. races start at 10am, with registration from 7:30-8:30 each day. First class event. Perfect race hill with ultimate set up. For more info check www.snowboardseries.com or email me directly neilsunday@aol.com Thanks! Neil
  18. PF- are you making the trip to Lake Placid? I'll be there. If not, I'll see you at Northstar. Later! Neil
  19. Here they are... $300 plus shipping. Used about 10 days. email me directly: neilsunday@aol.com
  20. Just noticed Tyler Jewell is not on the start list for the WC in Russia. Anyone have any info? Lots of young guns read to take over!!!
  21. It was a great day to see so many carvers on the hill. we loved having everyone to our little piece of heaven, and hope ya'll had a good time! thanks to everyone for making the long drives, riding hard all day, and keeping the eyelids open for the long ride home! we got hit with 8 inches of snow yesterday- so gotta roll out, and make some tracks...
  22. I will agree with you guys on the"bomb-proof" buckle system, as i sit here and replace another buckle on my raichles... :)
  23. Mick- I have used the raichle af 700 for 3 years, switched last year to ride the head stratus pro for nationals, and started off again this year on the stratus pros. the lower cuff had me folding the boot, and i'm only 5'7". after 5 days on snow this season, i switched back to the af 700, and BINGO! Home again. I'll personally never go with the Head again simply b/c the cuff is way low, the toe box is stingy (narrow) and the flex is too stiff for racing. this boot may be a great carving boot if the fit was generous, but for racing, i'd stick to the af 700 or the INDY. Hope this helps. - Neil
  24. Bob- If I were fly fishing in / around Hilton head, I'd throw a 9' 9# and nothing but chartruese and white clouser minnows in sizxe 2 and larger. the salt can be great. Good Luck! -Neil

    waxing for race

Swix LF series is hard to beat when not trying to be exactly specific. LF 7 is one of the broadest temperature range waxes out there. "Broadest" meaning that is suited to many snow/air temps and humidity and age of snow. IMO, brushing may be as important as the right wax, as this clears the structure of the base allowing for a decrease in suction. The kids on my team never leave the start house without having the board(s) roto-brushed.
