  3. SunSurfer , "They are not convinced of the additional benefit of a MIPS type helmet given that almost every helmet slips/moves on impact."

JMO because I'm just a nobody, but it seems to me, the better a helmet is fitted to ones head the less it moves around. I wear my helmets properly fitted and tighter than most, so they have minimal movement (and I even have the chin straps buckled and snug).

With the MIPS I recently purchased I can get a really snug fit that feels good and the suspension system built into the helmet can do the movement as designed.

I can appreciate the BHSI reviews and evaluation as we all know their is a lot of manufacturers hype in everything available to the consumer !

All I do know is that in Real World fit and feel (for me) I really like the MIPS.

After getting it properly set up and adjusted to my head, nothing has ever fit better out of the box without some kind of 'unauthorized adjustment'.

Will it function better than any other helmet on the market? I hope I never find out !

  4. " Hey John, I've seen more than a few NJ license plates around here. It seems like a long drive, but some of your neighbors are doin' it... "

Yea, and I'm on the 'west coast' of NJ so it should be a piece of cake, would be a heck of a day trip though :D ...

  5. cifex, being you are from NY, in addition to what has already been posted you 'may' also want to 'seriously' consider ECES 2014 !

It is an opportunity that will not present itself on the east coast for another 2 years ! Demo's available from many of the manufacturers along with a lot of used boards.

Great deals on accommodations and lift tickets, seminars, lessons & Good Times !

  6. Wow, not much action here this year. In years past we were booked by now, but life happens.

Looking to put a group (4 or 5) together to make a (non-smoking) Condo affordable in the Aspen area.

We have (2) with a 'possible definite maybe', so looking for 2 or 3 more to defray the costs of civilized living in the Aspen area.

Arriving Jan. 30,2014 and leaving Feb. 8, 2014.

We are 'Older Kids' (male, early 60's) not partiers, but like to have a good time, enjoy SES and RIDE !

Thanks to all that responded, we've got a Full House :biggthump -- jp1

  7. FYI, If anyone has interest in discount tickets to Blue Mountain, Pa. I recently received this message from the Club I got my 6-Pak from and they OK'd that I post it here.

If interested, PM or email me and I'll send you the phone number of the Club to call.

"Also, I'm selling tickets this year for $25 each. An individual ticket can be used either for an all-day rental, an all-day lift ticket, or a tubing ticket.

Blue Mt.'s regular prices are as follows:

Adult lift ticket is $54 and $45 for youth (6-21). "
