  1. howdy

i dont do much softboots, but tried recently Nobile N8 titanal - 168 in lenght and was very suprised how alpine like it has felt.

Definitely one of the boards to look at.

here is a vid how  N8 rides, so if you aim at alpine riding experience give it a shot.

I have 28cm boots riding at 33 in the back and 39 in the front - so pretty steep for softboots i think.

    regards and enjoy the journey!

@1xsculleri think had a Nobile N8 Ti 158 for sale.

And while I have nothing but praise for ZipFit liner comfort, the GFT model quickly tore in the back, just above the heel. I ended up applying a very large amount of superglue to keep it together, and it has been fine since then.

any particular reason for this liner failure?

was that due to inserting the liner into the shell while on feet?

I was thinking of getting boot horn for easy entry with liners on

  3. with all locktite type of products gotta be careful not touch plastic with them, as they can damage it.

not sure what to do about these T nuts - all seems assembled correctly, nice and tight, but i have to exchange them at least twice a season.

  4. Sg bindings currently cost more then twice the price of F2s. For me its not enough evolution in SG bindings to spend that much on plastic/nylon binding. I did own them in the past but sold them.

looking at mcmaster carr site i found these two that would possibly fit:

    https://www.mcmaster.com/90563A640/

    https://www.mcmaster.com/90594A370/

anybody can provide inputs if the material of these two would be right to use for this application?

  5. hi all,

i keep cracking my t nuts in F2 Race bindings which has become quite annoying.

does anyone have a DIN number of a similar product to use instead of original F2s?

I could potentially CNC them out of inox or any other material - any recommendations on what material would work best for these?

    Inox or brass maybe?

    kindly asking for you inputs

    thanks

    Lukasz

  6. i ride Nobile SL medium Flex at 85kgs with plate on top. I have shed some kgs over summer so will see how the medium flex will work now.

176 GS is a race GS board for ladies - thus the softer flex and narrow waist at 19 cm.

Similar to SG Full Race 175 - 175 is softer then 170 SG FR, with less radius and less waist.

Potentially a Vist plate could make it a little more stiff.

most likely the reason why this is too soft for @weather_nerd

  7. hi,

i was looking at this last week as well

here is the full article about it:

    https://unofficialnetworks.com/2022/11/28/double-decker-snowboard/

    https://www.ispo.com/en/promotion/new-snowboard-technology-doubledeck-snowboards

in ISPO take on this, they say it benefits freestyle, carving and makes snowboard an easy entry for a beginner.

how it is possible that it benefits all these groups.

I am sure though it will be marketed as a revolutionary, completely new system to snowboarding, never seen before...

The workflow software is obviously massively better. The phone app probably works, but I've this big-ass gaming machine with a RTX 3080 Ti in there, and the "Studio 2022" software works pretty well. Sadly they provide one for Adobe, but not DaVinci.... but it's not a massive chore with this software to extract even multiple perspectives from one file (all on the PC) and then mix that in DaVinci. Windows has a new free video editor https://clipchamp.com/en/ which looks pretty capable if people don't want to learn the power tools.

i use the 360 studio to export proress in 4k resultion and then put together the vids in davinci.

check out Hugh Hou channel on youtube

he shows quote a few useful workflows and few tricks to make the vid look great on youtube.

Sure the 360 content will never be true 4k, but its close after listening to this guy.

  9. my only regret on the garments (not necessarily FA) is that all potential areas that suffer from the carve, are rarely protected with proper materials like ripstop or keprotec or any other abrasion resistant fabric.

Musto does pants that are with keprotec (same as thor gloves) in the knee and hip area, however they are pants dedicated to sailing not snowboarding, so they miss i.e. a snow gaiter. (https://www.marinesuperstore.com/clothing-casual/trousers-casual/musto-evo-performance-trousers-2-0)

Being a goofy  rider I always destroy my pants on the right hip and left knee.

it doesnt matter if the pants are cheap or expensive I destroy them all the same.

I would pay good money if somebody made a proper carving pant with all the key areas protected, which would last more then a season without looking like crap.

I am getting tempted, but I must resist the force as I have 2 SL decks. Never been on a Nobile

    trust me its fun 😛

Nobile makes in their factory Korua, Swoard and Dupraz so they know what they are doing.

these raceboard shapes were developed for German national team riders - Alex Bergman and Patrick Bussler.
