  1. When you refer to f2s are they the ones made by Caron Alpine http://www.catek.com/catekdirect/product.php?productid=10? So if the heel pad wears out, do you just fill the space with shoo goo? While i'm at it, do the fintecs work OK with f2 bindings?
  2. Is it possible to replace the plastic tread (Heel Pads) on the Intec Heel Mechanism Kit?
  3. I did cardrona treblecone remarks and Mt Dobson a couple of years ago, there were a few staff at treblecone who ride hard boots, but didn't see anyone else. Would kill to get to SES, just not sure how to wrangle that one with the wife and child :-)
  4. So I ordered a new coiler 171 VSR AM from Bruce. Can't wait! Cant believe my first "NEW" board since my mistral X59 asym back in? A long time ago. god I must have still been in nappies :) Back to Bruce, what a cool guy, very helpful through the whole process!
  5. did you ever sell these boots

  6. Yes I can, but I live on the north shore in Sydney :) ref: that f'n ranga prime minister of ours!Hey thanks for the offer, I kinda think it would be great to get a new board, might open some dialogue with the manufacturers. Dave
  7. now that is tempting :) When did you get it? i.e.: how old is it?Karratha if only the others on this forum knew just where that is..... too funny
  8. OK So its my 50th bday in July, and my wife has just OK'd the purchase of a new board. :) Yay!! But what to get, do the recommendations from above still stand at the end of the northern season? I was leaning toward a schtubby....
  9. So I turn 50 next year, and learn't in hard boots many years ago. Like you, no I couldn't be bothered digging a jump, but believe me, you will carve :) if you are on a good board, and in hard boots, it's hard not to. I'm looking long and hard at the coiler stubby
  10. I don't think I would want to go narrower, I have a new Hot Blast (Black) about 170? I've had a couple of runs on it, but I've never really found it that much fun compared to the Proto. I like tie look of the prior to be honest, so I guess it gets down to ATV or 4WD, and the Schtubby looks good too.
  11. anyone else want to chime in with board suggestions, I would be happy to listen.
  12. Man you are in the desert :) The snow was pretty good early, but is all but gone now, I had a good week in July and another in August, and then an average weekend in September, 17 odd days, not to bad.
  13. Hey where are you located / where do you ride? Did you get one of the cheap season passes?
  14. Hey thanks for that, will check out the Schtubby, was thinking about new inners, mine are a little worse for ware :)
  15. I'll be interested to hear what you think of the ATBs I dooo like the step in thing, being nearly 50 it makes life easy, also spending time on the mountain with Skiers they hate waiting for boarders... I'll probly try and get a new board sorted first then get new boots.
  16. So i have a Nidecker Proto 168, and a pair of Raichle deeluxe boots. Cant find the specs for the 168, but <table border="0" height="1" width="500"><tbody><tr><td height="1" valign="top" width="80"> Lengths (cm) 159 164 168 </td> <td height="1" valign="top" width="60"> Radius (m) 8 9 </td> <td height="1" valign="top" width="100"> Side Cut (mm) 252-195-247 263-207-258 </td> <td height="1" valign="top" width="120"> Rider Weight (kg) 55-65 65-85 </td></tr></tbody></table> Looking to update. I have ridden since about 94 always in hard boots. Love the feel of a carve, but live down in Australia, and there is not a whole lot of room on our mountains. I'm 6'1" 190lbs edit: my first board, was a mistral x59, rode that till it broke a couple of years ago. Couldn't be bothered (maybe too old) to learn any sort of trick riding, so will stick with a forward stance. I ride a mix of groomed and all terrain (trees etc) mainly with skiers, not boarders. So my questions are, is anyone familiar with this board above, and can suggest something that is similar on the market today. Are there any soft boots that feel even close to hard boots? What are the UPZ ATBs like, can they be modded as step-ins? Or should I stick with my deelux's, which feel OK, but are a bit uncomfortable sometimes for no apparent reason. One deciding factor will be shipping to Aus, there is absolutely no hard boot presence down here.
  17. Perian is a small "program" that lives in your preference pane and automatically downloads all the video codecs for macs as new ones become avail. FWIW I still have flip4mac VLC divx and adobe players on my mac. windows = "it just works" how mac ever got away with that line I will never know :p:p
  18. http://www.avocet.com/vertechpages/vertskifeatures.html I have one of these, seems to work OK, NOT gps though? Works the same as an aircraft altimeter.
  19. Is this sign still at the top of the mountain? :-) http://gallery.me.com/dbmgreen/100537/USA-20trip-202/web.jpg?ver=12527386930001
  20. I learnt to board in 1993 at Thredbo in Australia. I learnt in hard boots, from an instructor in hard boots. I'd never been to the snow before, and a mate of mine said don't bother with skis they are too hard. That year I bought myself a K2 board kinda wide with a square tail but a race board, and a pair of blue and yellow ski boots. Drove the 6 hours or so nearly every weekend till the end of the season, just loved it. The following year I worked the season in the snow here in Aus, and got a Mistral X59. That was 94. At the end of the Aus season I went to the USA with another new X59 (the tuners had ground the base down to nothing on the old one) and spent all of 94/95 season at the following resorts. Arizona Snow Bowl (AZ), USA Taos (NM), USA Crested Butte (CO), USA Durango Mountain Resort (CO), USA Telluride (CO), USA Snowmass (CO), USA Aspen (CO), USA Snowbird (UT), USA Big Sky (MT), USA Jackson Hole (WY), USA Grand Targhee (WY), USA Beaver Mountain Ski Area (UT), USA Red Mountain (BC), Canada Mt Washington (BC), Canada Whistler Blackcomb (BC), Canada A year later with another new X59 (the old one was stolen in Vancouver) I left for Milan Italy and whilst working over there I managed to board the following places. Abetone, (Toscana), Italy Pila (Aosta Valley), Piedmont, Italy Champoluc (Monterosa), Aosta, Italy Breuil-Cervinia (Aosta Valley), Aosta, Italy Courmayeur (Aosta Valley), Aosta, Italy Piani di Bobbio (Valtorta) (LC), Italy Passo Stelvio, Italy Alagna Valsesia, (Aosta), Italy Passo Tonale (Trentino), Italy Monte Terminillo (Lazio), Italy Sestrière (Piedmont), Italy Monte Crocione (Como), Italy Chamois (Aosta Valley), Aosta, Italy Now up until last year I was still riding the X59. Its hard to get carve board down here in Aus. Last year I managed to pick up an unused Hot Blast 167 I think, and a used Nidecker Proto III. Haven't spent much time on the Hot, but the Proto is easy to ride. You have to bear in mind that what we ride here is not so steep and not so wide as you have in Europe and North America, what would be a good board for me to own for next year? I'm kinda leaning toward the FLC Metal? I'm 6'2" 190lbs? Any thoughts?
  21. Gotta say, great service, your an absolute champ. I should post my old Mistral X59 natural to you just to say thanks. :-)
  22. Ep 4? Has it aired yet :-) Not wanting to sound pushy or anything.
