  1. Thanks. Yes love Mozilla too (especially the very addictive tab browsing) but had to give it up for now. It seems very slow to load compared to IE on my older computer. I liked its email too with less vulnerability to viruses and such.
  2. Thanks, tried that but somehow that option is only a shadow, can't click on save target as...Win98
  3. Great clip Nils, How do I save it to the harddrive? Want to convert it to have it on my Palm!!
  4. Fins and Michelle, Thanks for the great event. Would you be able to make the group picture available in the original size? Can't see the faces on the posted version. Thanks.

    heelside turns

Peter from Tahoe. On a Swoard 161. Always a clown, never serious (should not tell that to his boss), always looking to go lower, helps to be short anyway. Check out more pics and video of the Tahoe crew on tahoecarvers.com Check the links for video under their pictures half way down the page... http://www.tahoecarvers.com/riders/forum/read_TC.php?f=1&i=3095&t=3095
  6. Wondering for those who know Aspen area, where are the best slopes are to practice a litte EC/ Eurocarve/ Eating snow carve, ie well groomed (so not to dislocate shoulders  ), relatively steep (less distance to the snow :D ) and very WIDE (I'm still a big beginner when it comes to that part of the sport ;) ). Thanks for all replies.

    Carving styles

Great clip. Love the respect of the skier behind Jacques!!
  8. Hi Dave, Thanks. I knew about that one from my excursion to MtStLouis. Does CBC has the same channel in Aspen?!?
  9. Maybe a dumb question but is there/ will there be a specific FRS radio channel for SES participant on the slope. Or at least where to find everyone at the bar when it's dark?
  10. Hi Allee, Not sure of the style you are looking for. But if you are referring to 'extremecarving'/Swiss/Euro/Californian/surfer/non-racing/what-ever-you-want-to-call-it-laying-down style, check out www.extremecarving.com, they also have lots of pointers on how to do it. A woman is always welcomed on any carving site.:)

    Kids Gear

Thinking about getting my 6 yo on his first board. Can I use his ski boots on a regular (freeride/freestyle) kid size snowboard. I've got the bindings? I want him eventually carving of course. Any suggestions? I don't want to spend a fortune on new gear that he may hate after a few sessions. Can't rent carving set up for adults let alone kids. Thanks.
  12. I am interested in a second hand Swoard, the 168 actually. Both "Gary Grcy" and "Tenny Dale" have posted so so reviews. Any one know how to contact them if they wanted to part from their Swoards? I tried the listed emails but they do not exist according to yahoo/aol. Thanks.
  13. another option would be to buy a rigid wrist splint WITH thumb spica. That would immobilize the thumb and help prevent injury to it. You could wear it under the mitts and not catch the snow. Price wise should be quite similar.
  14. Hope you don't pain too bad. Get well soon. PS that's greater trochanter
  15. would you have the specs to it by any chance? esp. width, radius and recommanded rider weight. Thanks.
  16. As above, From Ajax Ontario Canada Local bunny hills compared to anything out there (300ft drop yeehaa). Looks like my bro except standing up rather than laying down so low.:( No pics on the slope available, only with my kids, kind a useless for this forum!!
  17. I'm one of those cross over. Started when I tried the Elan SCX, one of the earliest and most radical sidecuts back then. Then switched to plates. Now I ride plates when I'm on my own and use the shaped skis when with my kids (easier to control and drag them along) but still able to make deep trenches and high Gs. Esthetically, carving low on boards does look much nicer, more like carving a wave (monoski vs waterskiis).
  18. I guess I better stop eating bull's balls and cow's brain before SES....
  19. Why on earth aren't women and children interested in carving? Too geeky, too much like the engineering type? G force does not equal orgasmic pleasure? Gentle touch of a soft glide/slide on the snow feels better than hard edge on cord (sleeping in 400 count sheet and feather bed rather than tumbling on hard snow comes to mind)? What gives...
  20. Anyone going next weekend (27-28)? Carving brother visiting from Tahoe coming to GTA.
