The Ace Skwal   Green Mountain Proto:  My first time on a Skwal.... I was uncomfortable with low speed handling, I would say that is because of a lack of experience on Skwals but the second I tipped it on edge and let it run,  I completely understood what this was all about.  Stay centered, commit to the turn, and let it do its thing.  SUPER FUN!  Amazing edge hold on the rather rugged conditions that day.  Super friendly on the knees in the bumpy stuff.  A very intuitive board to ride once I got a little speed and let it carve.  This is most certainly a board I would like to add to the quiver.

Please tell me you weren't wearing a onesie while riding the Skwal you will give us a bad name and more people will be calling it a monoski

  2. I blame this life necessity on the pandemic. I didn't know I needed these. It was only after I sat staring at the walls 6 weeks into a lockdown that I realized this was the product the world needed. Once the foreclosure is finalized I can be safe in the realization that my folding skis are safe in the trunk of my car and won't be stolen from the roof rack as i sleep in the Walmart parking lot at nite.

I’d like to see some vids from, maybe a GoPro, with good  audio of intermediate clinics.
That may be asking too much, however.
Of the people at MCC how many are 10s like the ones in Sean’s great pics and how many are 5s through 8s striving to become 9s or 10s?

I was there last year I'm a one ! No Vail or Aspen attitude at MCC.

  4. I don't want to see any hill go bust but i think a class action law suit is just around the corner if they don't smarten up and do what's right. I would sooner see the gov't shut them down for the rest of the season rather than keep dangling a carrot over our heads and letting us ski 3 hrs. at a time if your lucky enough to win their lottery. Keep my money and issue a new membership for next season seems like a pretty good solution for both parties.

This makes me concerned about the steeper terrain at MCC but it will be my last ditch attempt to go from a 4 to a 6.

Don't worry about MCC the parking lot and lodge floor aren't steep ! Don't be in a hurry to attack the hill just scout it out and get comfortable. If you can unload at the half way point for first few warm up  runs  it won't be as intimidating.

if it's not a question of reference point why does the effect go away when i focus on a particular object like the little marker stix  above tree line @ Sunshine on Goats Eye ? I know i'm special especially in these unprecedented times.

  7. Your brain is going nuts trying to establish a horizontal reference point. Try and help it. Gravol and obsessive hydration. Focus on specific points on the terrain not the white abyss. Mountain biking, horse back riding and sailing all jog the brain around and may be helpful to teach you new coping mechanisms. Hard to concentrate on carving when your head is spinning.
