  1. For all the racers out there. Below is an announcement Becky from US Snowboarding just sent me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I wanted to let you know about a great addition to the alpine competition calendar that perhaps you would be willing to share with your community. The Race to the Cup alpine series consisted of three stops throughout the U.S. this season, with the winner of the PGS at each stop earning a start right at the Bachelor World Cup. At the previous two stops, prize money was only available for the PGS event, but Crystal has worked hard at finding sponsors and putting 110% effort into this race, resulting in an announcement this week that they will also provide prize money for the PSL. This is a tremendous show of support for alpine snowboarding, and I would like to see the event run as successful as possible for them so that they (and others) are willing to continue to support alpine snowboarding in the future. Entering the event is simple... if you are concerned about earning FIS points and establishing an international ranking, you will need a national USSA license and a FIS license (total cost $140) and that should be taken care of in the next week through the USSA office. If you just want to come out and ride, have a shot at some cash and see how you rank up compared to some of the top riders in the U.S., you can enter with a regional USSA membership and provisional FIS license (total cost $50) and can be done on-site. I've attached a race announcement and entry form, or you register on-line by following this link: http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1096422 An announcement should also be posted on www.ussa.org today as well. The event takes place at Crystal Mountain, WA on March 1-2, which segways right into the World Cup at Bachelor on March 5. Please feel free to direct any questions to me or to forward this information on to anyone else who may find it relevant. Best, Becky Woolley U.S. Snowboarding Program Manager 435.647.2081
  2. David Keys is the Limbo winner at around 12" in height! Two days later, David injured his arm carving at Copper while waving to some girls on the chair. Get better man!
  3. The Super Quiver. We probably had over 40 boards there to demo!
  4. A-Basin at some god given hour of the morning.....
  5. Excellent SES this year guys! The turn out was larger then we expected with about 60-80 riders per day and over 100 at the end of week party. Aspen was its usual with outrageous groomies and the day we went over to Ajax Mnt was incredible. We had sun just about everyday and the demo tent was always packed. I won’t drone on too long on the thank you’s, but thank you to all who made this possible. You know who you are. Below are some quick shots I took during the week. Plan to have a proper page up on the event with all the pictures. If you have anything to donate as far as pictures, please e-mail them to me fin@bomberonline.com. If you have video please send to Bob Jenney at bobj@bobjdesigns.com. Thank you again to everyone and see the rest of you at the ECES!
  6. Bummer on Coiler but good to hear you will be bringing some boards for us to try. See you in a few days!

    Hey all!

thavngr98, Right on, I am always stoked when we get a new member to our community. You have any questions or comment, you just let us know. Welcome!
  8. Latest Update on the 04’ Summit Expression Session OK, lots of good new information on the SES and from the sign-up and talking to people we are going to have a great showing this year! Snowboard Journal has also informed us they will be attending a few of the days at Aspen to possibly do a piece on the alpine world! This is big news folks, so let’s put a good show on for them. Also, we have been told that surf legends Mike Doyle and Joey Cabell will be joining us for some days in Aspen. Extreme Carve: Two of the head honchos from Extreme Carve are also going to be joining us at Aspen. Patrice and Nils are coming all the way from Switzerland to show us how they do it EC style! We should also be seeing some world cup racers joining us here on the Summit side. Lisa Kosglow, Jeff Greenwood, Anton Pogue, and others say they are going to hook up with us Thursday and Friday. New sponsors: - Snowboard Journal is donating some issues and a free subscription at the raffle - Dave Morgan with www.yyzcanuck.com is donating a keg at the Wednesday party - Red Bull just sent us enough Red Bull to get the entire state of Colorado wired Tuning clinic: Tim Mullen with Reliable Racing will be holding a tuning clinic at our open house party here in Silverthorne on Tuesday night. This guy can make an 86’ Safari carve like a champ! I’ll also have my famous “Binding Museum” set up and we’ll have the mill running so you can see how a TD2 is made. Video: Bob Jenney has volunteered to take some video during the session and give us a rough cut for the big party on Friday. Anyone who takes video and would like to “donate” the footage to the cause please talk to Bob at the SES. Demo fleet is looking good! Looks like we’ll have TD2 bindings, Donek/Prior/Swoard/Coiler snowboards, and Raichle boots for demo. More to come and cannot wait to see everyone in town again!

Mark, Thank you for the compliment on the Bomber parties. I just wish the local judge saw it the way you do. Apparently skeet shooting, kegs, and cars doing donuts is now "frowned on" We'll think of something else.....
  10. too fast, Sorry man, with the SES just coming up this weekend, have no time this week. Should be good though!
  11. John, Man, so sorry to hear about the injury. Always a drag. My mind races with the thought of John Gilour now in bed with a pen and paper coming up with some crazy ideas on a better skate truck or snowboard or who knows :D John, get better man and hope to make turns with you soon. It has been way too long.
  12. Yes, there are some small "center" height differences on each of the 3 different cant disks. However, you do need to remember that your foot is not attached to your leg in the middle of the foot so the height of say your heels is a better indicator of where you end up. But no matter how you slice it as long as you have cant/lift, your heights will vary a small amount and cetainly not enough to make the set-up feel bad. No, the cant disks cannot be stacked on top of each other. If you want to create more lift, the best way is to lift the Sole Blocks on top of the Base plates. Keeps everything nice and clean and lined up properly as well.

Mark, We'll be at Buttermilk that day so please come join! Entire schedual is HERE
  14. Yes, you can run the TD1 with out the bumpers. And you are correct it will allow the board to flex more under the binding. The only issue might be that with out the bumpers you also increase the lever effect of the binding on the inserts of the board which may damage the inserts. However, the Skwal type boards do rely more on lateral (side) forces from the boot and binding so it may not be as big an issue with your set-up. Your choice and worth trying but officially I would not recommend it ;)
  15. Mellow Yellow, Try this: if it is only one screw still in the disk that is stripped, just try to turn the entire disc counter clockwise around the stripped screw. You may have to "convince" it to do this by tapping it with a hammer and a block of wood (won't mar the binding). I have found in the past you only need to go about 1/8th of a turn and that screw is now loose enough to just turn out by hand.
  16. Wayne, Ooops, sorry about that, blew by your question and forgot to answer. In therory you could modify a TD2 receiver to work on a TD1 but the heights would be a bit off (not by much mind you). Also, you would need to make sure you create a 45 degree chamfer in the part with a 4mm spacing (center to center) and 50mm from side to side. Or you could contact Michelle at michelle@bomberonline.com or call at 800-277-2037 and order a TD1 heel receiver as we do have a few in stock and it is just not on the site right now.
  17. Check out my thread about 7 replies up from this one....
  18. OK, trying to get this going again. For all those interested in some night time action at Keystone, Colorado meet at the Kickappoo (sp?) Tavern (on left as you walk to the Gondola, just before the bridge) at 5:30pm. Then we try to walk over to the Gondola and be on by 6:00pm. They are open till 8:00pm so we can ussually get 4-5 good hard and long runs in before your knees give out. This is not a "written in stone" weekly event, but we do try to do our best on this. Know of about 3-4 coming this Wednesday so should be good one. Beers afterward at the Tavern (duh).
  19. Your chart is correct. The only thing I might add is above the SB and Lemans columns put "SB Series" and on top of AF/Suzuka/Indy maybe put "AF Series" just to drive home the two distinct model types. Your final conclusion is also correct, no huge changes with-in these series. Softer or harder tongues and shell, more and less adjustment options, standard liners vs ThermoFlex, and different colors are the changes you see.
  20. Baka Dasai, It is a bit confusing but lets me try this. Here is the order they where offered in: SB100 Series (ex. 123,124, 125) SB200 Series (ex. 223, 224, 225) SB300 Series (ex. 323, 324, 325) SB400 and AF Series (ex. 423 and AF700) Lemans, Suzuka, Indy Series (where we are now) Hope this helps,
  21. Golfer, Sorry about that with the leash. We changed the supplier for the leashes this year and they used a different "clip" for the leash then previous ones. It is hard to identify which leash goes with what so the safest thing to do is always just use both parts from the most recent leash and you should not have a problem. Side tip: if you ever loose the small part end, breaks off, different boot etc, just take the long part, open the toe buckle on the boot, put the leash under the toe strap, re-clamp the buckle. Holds it in place and works to keep the board on you just in case.
  22. Sorry for the delay on this. Michelle has just been so over-whelmed with the day to day of Bomber she has not had a chance to finish that part of the site. With our string of shows and SES's coming up, probably not until the Spring. But send any pictures/videos over if you got'm!
