We had 6 carvers in Banff last week, too bad you didn't catch us, anyhow, Norquay.... yea its small but for carving dang! ultra fast! Theres a reason by the National team trains there! Nakiska is a good mountain, unless you can get to Panarama another fine carving mountain. Silver Star ain't bad either!
Maybe next time! Probabley heading to Sun Peaks finnally next year!
Good luck! watch the trees, the bark isn't fully ripe yet! since its been so cold tasted terrible last week, but should taste fine now!

I find transworld to be essentially a Maxim/FHM for snowboarders, which again is basically the male equivalent of Cosmopolitan/Vogue magazine
Vhat are you friggin nuts? I have learned more about america and how to survive from dis magazine alone! I mean they actually teach you how to do stuff, like blowing stuff up.... How to get even mit people, best chick bar advice...how to keep from getting fired!... man its endless!... Its the only magazine that has **** to read on every page! instead of just looking at pictures! and they keep doing it month to month!
I learned about all the parisites that live in ;your body and the worst wuns to get! .....Man so much interesting stuff,
Its loaded with the most street user advice money can buy! and the girls ain't bad either. Except now I expect every girl to look like that! What wrong with that!, I think they all should!
BTW FHM this month! Girls of the X-games,,,,,NiCE!:)
Finnally a magazine I read instead of all the pictures.. Every page filled with pure enjoyment!

Dang I no, in any system -22 to -35 degrees is cold! Last Sunday all the way to Wed it was frigging the coldest I have ever felt, other than the X!
That was da ambient temp! Tues with wind chill, now this was just in Banff and Bow valley! was -57 degrees with wind chill now add on Board speed! Dang thats all Im sayin!..... was minus -38 ambient at the base of Sunshine Village so they closed it! actually Closed Sunshine! now thats Cold!
Oh yea, it snow everyday and a freakin blizzard at Lake Louise on Friday!

Jack, this is not worth getting into an argument about, but after spending 34 years being involved with USSA racing and NCAA racing in college, and the last 15 years with snowboard racing, I do know what I am talking about.
Well, I have been racing for 500 years, ja, in Obergugl/Hochgurgle arena., ja dats right. Skis did not make dis, until snowboarder did, still to dis day you rarely see a single person ride a ski correctly. But in alpine almost all do!

Well, cant is cant and lift is lift. I have not dun the possible combinations yet but. dis is what it means to me!
lift is just dat, LIFT! you either have a flat foot or a foot with lift. so rear lift is the heel is raised with your foot remaining even keal! den you have flat front foot or front foot with toe Lift and the toe is the only thing that is moving up. Now Vlad may ride with heel lift in both the front and the back foot, would not recomend this, you see how he rides!
Canting is the angulation of either the outside of the boot tilting inward or the inside of the boot tilting outward.
lets use a goofy stance for an example just reverse it if you are regular, since most here are in there right mind and are goofy. (see thread).
easy way to do dis is stand up on the floor with your RIGHT foot forward, (thats why they call it right!) now with your back foot lift your heel off the ground staying on the balls of you foot. Thats heel lift. Put foot back down, now push your back knee to your inside of the body lift your entire sole of your outer foot to come off while maintaining contact with the ground with your entire inner sole of your foot. Thats canting.
Now the front is the same except you keep your heel on the ground while lift the ball of your foot off.

First make both long and short, I wear my year round.
Second, needs to be in black, then maybe red writting. The white shirts last about a month with all the clean up stains from the snail tracks and open face roast beef sandwich sauce. (hint hint).

Hmmm. It not missing out of pleasure, its maximizing it! and always searching for the best spot. Kinda like druggies always searching for the ultimate high. Sure its a good spot, but some where out there there is a better one. Maybe I found the best spot for that board, maybe its the board that needs to be better. Then the ride gets better and better, until you wore out the limits of that board, then the search goes on.
Id say its more like a Journey not a destination!
I do tinker with other stuff too.,, I wonder?

Its not that its not set up right, its more of searching for the Zen of Carving set up. Im always looking to find out if there is a sweater spot!
Then it seems the way I have it dialed in on one type of conditions then not so good den when I get other conditions. Like going from here den to out west on the butter snow! So I tinker!
If Im riding one place for a while it gets set, but once I hit something else I change it cause I know it could be better.
maybe I need more boards so I have 12 then I would group them in three's, 178,188, 201 and set them up for 1) Ice, 2) slush, 3)powder, 4) packed powder. May still need to get more boards though.
Its the ever searching....the knowing that maybe.... just maybe if I move... uhhh this screw... it will be perfect! Dats da problem.

Ja, I know what u are thinking, but lets get gutter mind off now. Im sears rious!
I have been accused of this and I'm sure some have you have seen this in action.
I kan't seem to help but to tinker mit my bindings everytime I go out. a little angle here, move them apart,,..I do this till it drives my friends insane! ..Its fun but I think its becoming a problem and may need help...... but anyway.
I don't think Im alone, in fact I think its vhut seperates us from them! Im always looking for a support group on da hill, I bet if I stood up on top I would eventually see someone tinkering.
Am I alone, need help for tinkering problem.
I have classified a few bindings on the tinkerability index from 1 to 10:
F2 proflex= Tinker index of 5
Bomber TD2 = 7
Cateks = 12... these , i kant help it they just scream, "please give my allen a screw in"

Ja! My head is long and narrow too! but I don't go around telling everyone!
My helmut fits in pletty good!
I mean yea, I tried many on for size before selecting just one!
But then again they just keep getting better so ya, gotta stay with the newer Models;)
