  1. Give us a week to recharge L.T. and Rivers and we'll be there on sunday.... Blue sky Didier PS. Still can't believe we beat the Colts with backups and blown calls against us... :D
  2. Hi ! I'm a skydiver. About 700 jumps in Southern California. :) Blue sky Didier.
  3. Flask of schrubb (homemade orange flavored rum), sometime some sake, or some champagne... dont forget to give a small offer to the snow and carvers Gods :) queequeg, you leave the camelback bag empty in the freezer ?? or do leave some water in it ? Never heard of that trick... Blue sky Didier
  4. Cyrus, As you tested one, how does it feel ? I'm sure you compared it to a similar board without the wavely edge. My guess is, for freeride it will work as described by marketing and will be something good for the ride. However for carving decks, as we dig trenches deep into the snow, the whole length of the board is in contact and pressure the snow making the need for multiple contact point useless. Blue sky Didier
  5. Wavechaser, Next time you race, ask the clock manager to set the timer on longer seconds so you can go faster...... I'd love to see his/her face as you ask..... lol Blue sky Didier
  6. Wavechaser, You don't want quick second during your races or you will be last. You need long seconds so you can finish the races with a shorter time....... Blue sky Didier
  7. Thanks ! They forecast another storm for late this week or weekend, as this one is coming from the north, maybe the temps will go down and snow will fall.... :)
  8. Any news on how Snow summit is ?? Blue sky D.
  9. DVD and HD are not good for action filming as the bumps and shocks will make the DVD and HD head skip on their disk so the recording will not work. Plus as someone said before, the high altitude is not good for HD camcorder. In skydiving, miniDV is the standard as it resists shocks much better than DVD and HD. Also, Hi-Def camcorder use miniDV for recording too so miniDV will not disaspear right away.... Blue sky Didier
  10. Hi ! The East coast might be too far for me for the ECES 08.... I was wondering if there will be some ES on the west coast even if they are not the size of the ECES. If yes, any idea of the schedule ? Blue sky Didier
  11. Hi ! A little update... After a couple of hours on saturday (first day), watching some carvers on Stump Alley but not able to meet them, I went on the other side with my friend, On Santiago (14) I focused on avoiding a skier at the intersection... fall forward, twisted my right ankle (back foot), little trip to the hospital for some (luckily) negative Xray I went back to the condo for 2 days rest. On tuesday, I was able to board a little... As Ray said, ugly conditions... On wednesday, a little boarding before crashing hard on my back on the little run going around the mountain from 14 to the Main Lodge. Ankle is fine, but right knee got tweaked and back is hurting... might have to go for Xray again soon. Dont know if the season is over but I've got to take lessons before I go out on my board as it's a little more technical than I thought.... Be safe on the slopes ! Didier
  12. I bought it used on Ebay, but seller said he used it once. I've read about the 0 deg that Sean put on his new boards but I don't know if the angles were changed on my board or not. I will check tonight if the base is concave or flat, I don't think I can figure out without tool what is the angles for the edges though..... Also, which brand to use for waxing ? Are they all the same or some are better than others ? I've done some search on this site for tuning but the amount of info is overwhelming at first, so right now I'm trying to figure out the simple stuff.... Blue sky Didier
  13. Hi ! I'd like to know which shop is good for tuning alpine board in Mammoth ? I'm a newbie in term of tuning and don't have a kit, and as I'm going 5 days I was thinking of doing a was job in the middle of the trip. I think my edges are good and the base looks good too, so just a hot wax should be sufficient (unless a tuning wizard here tells me otherwise). Thanks Blue sky Didier
  14. Thanks ! It's my first time with my Donek, so I don't know about steeper trails... (plus you're definition of steeper is probably different than mine). I will go with wide groomers first, then go steeper as the days go by. Blue sky Didier
  15. Thanks ! I will try those runs on saturday ! I hope the snow will stay there, forecast are warm temps.... I will be looking for a volk board on the slopes... and for any other carvers to look at their techniques... Blue sky Didier
  16. Just a bump to see if anybody will be in Mammoth next weekend.. Also, it will be my first time there, so what are the best runs for carving ? My friend has been in Mammoth before, but she's a skier....
  17. Hi ! I'm new on this site. I just bought my board and will be in Mammoth March 10th to the 14th with a friend (skier). I was wondering if anybody would be there, I'd love to see some fellow carvers slicing the snow and get some input on my set-up and technique. Didier
