  1. Rick is the other hardbooter. He can also be seen everyday the the Fish. Rick is not a computer guy so he can't be found here. Rick is a great guy and tons of fun to ride with too.

I just got off the phone with Johnasmo, he was mid way down Whitefish Mountain Resort on Bench Run (just off of Toni Matt). He said he was on his 7th day of hiking the hill this year.

    Cheers

  2. Bomber carries these. The replacement parts do need to be pressed together at a ski shop that has the correct type of press/tools. OR...I would recommend drilling out the replacement outer piece and fitting an appropriate T-nut and allen bolt to hold it all together. Remember to loctite them. The T-nut repair/mod works best for the long term as seen in your 2nd boot picture and your DIY repair will look very similar. The aluminum in the original and replacement parts are soft metals and simply wear out.

    Cheers

  3. That is the best Toni Matt has looked in months!

I once saw Johnasmo ride the PBR board down a gravel road, with no damage to it at all!!. It is a remarkable board, just goes to show the power of PBR.

Great shirt in the beginning of the video!!

  4. Carvedog, I rode both the NSR 182 and the SillyGood at 09 SES. It sounds like you are looking for a super stable, large radius turning board.

The NSR felt like a very good replacement for the Donek Das Amputator 201 but if you played your weight forward or back you could easily tighten up or lengthen the turn, this maked the board even more versitile for days with a larger meat gate population.

The HB SillyGood was also a great ride. Very stable, I think I was too light (or I did not ride it on the right steepness of slope, i.e. needed to be on something steeper than Buttermilk) to really make it work well, but it has tons of potential. It seemed to require either a ton of speed or weight to get the board turning. I do not think I spent enough time on it to give it a fair evaluation. It was a blast though.

Both boards have variable geometry so playing weight to the differing side cuts makes both of the boards much more versitle than traditional radial sidecuts. Both boards have that magic Titanal that contributes to a board that will stay hooked up when you normally are thinking you are goin to loose an edge. Both factors make the new board game changers.

Neither board would let you down, SillyGood's are more readily available than getting on the Coiler build list.

That is my 170 lbs of 2 cents.

  5. A week at Big Mtn. followed by a week at SES! On the drive from Whitefish to Aspen we could stop by at Grand Targhee(my home resort).

So for you folks fortunate to have 2 weeks off. Lets plan traveling/riding from Big Mtn to Targhee to Aspen... We will have to throw in a Turner Mtn day also while in NW Montana. Drop me an email..

    Just a thought.

DrD. Aspen was vacant other than all of the carvers, never a lift line. Just like Big Mtn on weekdays.

  6. I have never ridden a Burner but it sound like a similar ride to the Das Amputator. An original Shred design built by Donek.

    201 length

    184 running length

    17.25 meter sidecut

    23.2 nose and tail width

    18.3 waist

This board is such a pleasure to ride.

  7. Johnasmo and I rode today, It was blue skies till about 1pm then a slight haze. The carving boards were quickly put away after 2 runs and we rode delicious powder all day! It looks like a 40% chance of snow tonight and a 50% chance of rain/snow for tomorrow. Today there was a 70% chance of rain/snow but we saw none of that. Currently it is mild and clear over Idaho Falls but it looks like some clouds from the west moving this way. We are planning on being up at the hill by 0900! See you all there. Wish you could make it Casper. We will make a turn or two for ya.

  8. Take a look at your Donek calendars...Can you name the rider?

From the Mistake on the Lake...

Yes it is Paulk month! So everyone slow it down a notch and ride slow, low and smooth.

Enjoy the last bits of winter!!

  10. Sounds like you have a broken rivet on the cuff to lower boot. Pull the liner out to look for the backing washer inside the boot. It can be fixed with a T-nut and some washers. Sometimes you can drill thru the old rivet and use it as a washer with a T-nut on the inside.

Most ski shops should be able to replace the rivet if you wish.

    Good luck!

  11. One pair of TD'1s with red anodized plates. They are in good used shape with new bumpers. Disks included are both 3 degree and fit either Burton 3 hole or standard 4 hole. $100.00 and $10.00 shipping

Also 1 pair of TD1's with intec and standard receivers. The intec adapters are slightly worn but very useable, see picture. Disks included are both 3 degree and fit either Burton 3 hole or standard 4 hole. $120.00 and $10.00 shipping.

Contact me thru profile email. Thanks David
