i got up at 4 to try and get there by 8... ended up getting there after 8:30 (roads were pretty bad)... powder was decent first couple runs but after awhile it got pretty bumped out. i met up with lee after my second run and we rode down probably about 10 or so together. it was great to finally ride with another hardbooter! see you guys around.
  5. i'll be there Sunday on my Oxygen... Orange jacket, green pants. Red or orange boots.

Just found out my Saturday seminar is cancelled tomorrow so i'll be able to make it for the morning! Is there a place you guys usually meet... and color clothes to look for? I have an orange jacket/green pants that's pretty easy to pick out.
  10. depends. where i go usually the runs are narrow..so it's only possible to slip past if it's 1 or 2 people. if it's a group (ahead of me) i have to wait until they all stop (which they almost always do), or til they get to a wider section. either way it's frustrating if i see a group behind me i'll stay ahead of them... the worst is waiting for a window and just when you're about to go ONE person shows up and just goes right by all the while just looking at you like you're an alien.
  11. that is ridiculous! he looked like he just got back from another planet at the end. forget the bike... that happens a lot.. he should have had a more secure helmet! it flew off almost right away!
  12. i agree with Bamboo Girl. if i do pass someone.. i'll side slip past them giving them enough room. usually if it's a group of people i'll wait for a little while to give them some room before i head down... especially on narrow runs
  13. just checked the site and said it's been cancelled this year due to the "ridiculously warm weather"

Griff... It's kind of a tough call. The UPZs are 28s, and the Stratos Pros are 29s. The one thing I didn't like about the UPZ is that they're pretty tight in the foot (but I think i'm changing my mind on that) The Stratos are really comfortable boots with a thick tongue that helps prevent possible shin bang. The only problem with the Stratos is that they're a bit too roomy, probably cause they['re probably one size too big for me. 28s in those would probably be my choice of boot. They also come with two tongues(the UPZs only came with one... stiff), a stiff and a softer one. I'm riding with the softer one right now, but I'm probably going to switch to the stiffer ones just to reduce my movement. So in otherwords, if i had equally sized boots I could give you a more precise comparison.. One other person on this site said he had done a direct comparison between the boots (equal sizes) and found that the UPZs were tighter in the foot where the Heads were roomier. I agree with that. Which I like better... right now the Heads even though they're a bit big. But I just started this season and haven't had very good runs in the UPZs. I may have a different preference after this weekend. :D

i might head over saturday afternoon (mornings are out because of my seminar)... but not sure if i want to hit crowds. sunday i'll be going to Jiminy if we get a decent amount of snow. would love to head up to NH for an overnighter sat to sunday to hit some of the snowfall.
  18. hey dave, what's your take on Jiminy this weeknd? do you think there'll be more snow.. i saw that there should be some snowfall friday/saturday. i rode today and it wasn't too hot with my board.
  19. well good thing you're alright... i haven't been hit from behind yet (knock on wood)... but the first time i was out on my oxygen near the end of one run i was making a toeside turn when all of a sudden i went airborne and landed smack on my back... my friend who saw the whole thing was likewise impressed. he said i did a complete front flip, legs straight up in the air and landed on my back. afterwards, i found out my back binding had come loose and turned so it was over the edge of the board.... guess that caused the nose to dig in... no injury though.
  20. Thanks RJ... i actually just ordere that 192 from you will be here tomorrow... now i just hope we get some more snow for the weekend! -Colin
