  3. I have the same question-I measure 27.96-Will the 27's be to tight or will they pack out. Currently I have older 28's-had some heel lift which I corrected. I am leaning toward 27's ?????

  5. Have not been back to Beaver Creek in 9 years but Centenial memories last a long time!!!
  6. My wife has this idea of where the term "goofy" came from but I am not sold on it. Any opinions on where the term "goofy" foot comes from??
  7. I was at Sugarloaf last year taking a lesson with one of the few hardboot instructors. We got half way down the run after laying out some beatiful trenches in hero snow and we stop so I can get some constructive critisism. An older lady , mid 60's, stops in front of us and asks my instructor(who is wearing a sugarloaf jacket) if he can tell the "kids" who are putting those ditches in the snow to stop because they are hard to ski over and she almost fell down. My instructor and I look at each other grinning ear to ear.
  8. I will be there all week riding a Burton Alp, anybody else going to be around!!
  9. I am from Montgomeryville, PA. I am taking off all next week(Sugarloaf USA !!) so taking off the following week may be a stretch, although I am self-employed so I am going to try to make it.
  10. Do you have to sign up or do I just show up? Fairly new to forum and just found out about this event. I am going to try to make it
  11. Thanks for the input. I will give Sean a call back on Monday and talk to him about the 175 & 179, maybe he will send me a demo to try out! Anybody have the Olympic core upgrade option , is it worth the money. I am getting itchy to place my order. All I need now is SNOW!!
  12. I ride mostly in PA, a few trips to Maine, VT, and NH every season, and a trip to CO every few years. I have been riding for 10 years although most 70 percent of the time on my soft boot boards. I would rather concentrate on my hard boots and carving at this point and felt new board was in order. No need to go super fast, just want carve on the groomers. Sean @ Donek recomended the FC II 171 but looking for input and opinions before I place an order for a new board. Alp is the only board I ever rode with hard boots so looking for feedback on boards. Thanks.
  13. I am about ready to purchase Donek FC II-171, looking for some more input or other suggestions please!! Also thinking of Catek bindings, not sure if I should go with step-ins-Advantages/disadvantages? I am 6'1- 210lbs do not need to go super fast, current board is a burton alp 169. Thanks.
  14. Hi everyone, new to forum, looking to buy a new board and need advice/input and this looks like the place to get it. I am 42years old(Yikes) and have been snow boarding for 10-11 years. I have had a hard boot set up for about 8 years but only ride it about 30 percent of the time. It is a Burton Alp 169 with Burton step in bindings and I have a pair of Raichle 124 or 724 boots(I know its one or the other can't put my hands on them at the moment). I am looking to buy new board and bindings. Leaning toward Donek Freecarve 175 or Blade and a pair of Catek OS2's. I am not interested in racing and do not have to go real fast(I don't bounce as good as I used to), just want to cruise groomers and lay out some really nice carves. With my current set up I start to skid on steep blues and blacks just to give a heads up on my ability. I live and ride in PA mostly and hit Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine several times a season with an occasional trip to CO every few years. All input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Oh, 6'1" 210lbs
