  1. Yup, you read correct. The Holy-Grail of softboot bindings. These bindings won't just knock your socks off, they will put them back on and send you out dancing! Includes some custom carbon highbacks, the original highbacks, Ride straps, spare bolts galore, spare heel cups, etc. In fact, with a couple base plates (get a machinist to replicate these ones) you can have two sets. They are awesome for BX, freeriding, powder, impressing ladies with smooth carves, you name it... I can e-mail a few pics, or maybe post some up here later. gkerr at waterworksconstruction sot ca Let me know if you're interested. $300 shipped anywhere in North America --- I am always up for trades as well. 2. I would like to update the ad. Outdoorescue made a very reasonable and respectable offer on the TD3 bindings. Unfortunately, I really have no interest in selling my bindings. They are my only set, and I love riding hard-boots... Anyway, It looks like I am going to be in soft-boots for most of this season. So the bindings are only for sale with the board AND if you are an aspiring young racer. Also, if you're under 20 and trying to find a GS FOR RACING I'll sell the deck for $150 shipped!
  3. I gave up on Catek after literally over a year of e-mails, faxes, phone messages, and even standard mail! I drafted up the parts I needed and built my own set of FR2's with the help of a local machine shop.
  4. Hello, I am headed up to Sugarloaf from December 3rd - 5th. Are there any people/groups out there that will be training. I'll just be HB carving / cruising with my GF / slashing / park, but if anyone trains for SBX hit me up! greg_184 at hotmail dot.com
  5. I purchased this board from this forum last year from Canadian Superstar Phillip Berube (FIS-stalk him if you have time). This was one of his NOS race boards. Anyway, I had a fun season racing on it last year. Unfortunately, it is too much board for the terrain out here in Nova Scotia, Canada. I'm an experienced rider, but not a world class GS racer. Accordingly, I do not compete beyond our local events and a 170ish all mountain carver is more suitable for me. Would anybody like to buy this? I don't remember what I paid, but I know Phil gave a great deal. So I'll pay it forward with an asking price of $250 shipped anywhere in North America. Also open for trades: An all mountain carver, a park/pipe board & bindings, Pants or a jacket? What do you have? Finally, I am going to Sugarlaof from the 2nd to the 5th of December. If you're from ME we can meet up! Thanks, Greg P.S. TD3 step in binding's not included. I'll take offers though if you're really interested http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/703/img0028cuc.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/600/img0029gf.jpg/
  6. Thanks for asking, had a solid run on Saturday... About 50th place in the open men cat. Obviously some very skilled riders in attendance, but also an impressive depth of field... Every single person in the pro category's (men, women, masters) was a super strong rider. Although some of them may not have raced since the 90's; the cumulative experience at the top of the course was incredible. I was surprised how difficult the course actually is. The videos probably don't do it justice. It isn't very fast, and there is only one race line to follow in the naturally banked turns. Not like a boardercross track that has high and low options in perfectly groomed berms. The fact that it is not too fast, I think, is why there are not any carving boards. I ride a 163 Kessler BX, and it was one of the longest and stiffest boards at the event. A lot of guys were on stiff pipe boards or shorter Kesslers. It would be difficult to get enough speed to carve a GS board. I would love to give the course a shot on a slalom board, but I didn't wanna lug the extra gear across the country... Although, I'm sure most of the riders there could be on hardboots if they wanted, and no one was... Seriously, one of the most deadly events I've ever seen. Everything from the organizers, to the freebies, to the riders. Hope I get another chance to go..... Peas, G
  7. Got in via the lottery in November! Flying out tomorrow... I'll keep you posted. BTW, is Gtanner = Gord Tanner? I race w/Fairbairn in NS. It's been a while since I've seen you at a race ;)
  8. Hit up Cervinia / Zermatt last year --- Most beautiful place I've ever seen. Fantastic terrain if you are into groomers. The trails are long and wide, wide, wide! There is some awesome off piste too, but you'll need a guide to make sure you don't end up in a crevasse. Want to keep the budget in check? Stay in Cervinia or Valtournenche. They are the ski towns on the Italian side of the Matterhorn. Same terrain, cheaper than Zermatt.

    Head pros

I broke the heel off a Statos Pro a couple years ago. I could not have possibly received better service from Head. They even rushed the shipping to me so I wouldn't get held up before a race. I dealt with the following gentleman: Charles Lemieux Warranty / Pro Service Head Canada Inc. 360 Michener Road, Unit A Guelph, Ontario N1K 1E4 T 1-800-265-7257 x 232 F 1-800-387-3733 E clemieux@ca.head.com E proservice@ca.head.com head.com
  10. Saw this on my local buy and sell. It is just a super deal for someone that wants to get into the sport. Good Luck! http://novascotia.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-sports-bikes-racing-alpine-snowboard-boots-W0QQAdIdZ251476416#
  11. Okay, I bought these off this forum in August. Then I spent the remainder of the off season tormenting myself with modifications to ensure these are the sickest bindings ever built! Trust me, they are --- Way better than the stock originals. Here is the dilemma(s): 1. The only time I use soft-boots is racing SBX. Any other time I'm kickn' it in plates. Unfortunately, after so much time invested it turns out I'd prefer a lighter binding. 2. If you are hitting 50' BX gaps with three other riders; there is a good chance these will destroy your deck. Or, any high speed collision....These are F-ING stiff and have no respect for you or your board. 3. My binding quiver is becoming ridiculously deep. With a few unexpected after Christmas expenses it is time to sell these to a good home. The modifications: - Burton C14 carbon highbacks, these are stiff and tall. The stock plastic backs are included. - Ride Straps, I bought these with no straps, so these are coming with. - Toe guide, I made these at a machine shop. Super adjustable, and a huge improvement for soft-boot carving. - Polycarbonate risers, like the Catek risers...But built in a machine shop. - Rubber dampening system, 70 durometer x 2 mm thick sheets between the board and the plate; and between the plate and the center binding disc. I have heard many opinion on these....Some say 'the bottom pad doesn't do anything' Others say 'the bottom pad helps protect the board'. Regardless, the dampening system is coming with the bindings. You can make your own decision. - Baseplate and tray, these were also built in a machine shop. They are identical (material and size) to the Catek bindings. Unfortunately, Catek does not answer/return calls, faxes, letters, emails, or telepathy. Accordingly, I was forced to build my own parts! So there you have it. The sickest bindings on the planet. You can look super cool at every resort you travel to! Be prepared to answer a lot of questions on the lift! $450.00 CAN + Shipping (wherever) Peas, Greg
  12. Hey, Is anyone familiar these? Would they be a set up or down from the Palmer PLS System? I'm thinking about putting a set on my BX race board. http://www.kessler-swiss.com/en-US/pages/products/bindingPlate/kPlateRocketCross/presentation
  13. The 'softer' Scott arrived today. Great packing job, perfect condition, fast shipping! A pleasure doing business. Thanks.
  14. I have built myself most of a set of Catek FR bindings. They look sick as hell! (pics will come once they're complete). The final piece is the plate that lays between the base plate and the foot bed. This piece keeps the binding angle secure. I am running low on time, patience, and I would rather just buy this piece than machine it. Does anyone have this? Wanna sell it? Let me know. gkerr at waterworksconstruction dot ca
  15. Are either of the Scott boards still available? I'll take one to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Email me: gkerr at waterworksconstruction dot ca
  16. Do you intend to have any FR2's in stock before September 2010?
  17. I am a long time hardbooter, but gonna give softboots a try this season. I want the Catek FR2 binding. Is Catek still a company? I have used their OS2's before, but they were from another racer. So I actually don't know anyone that has dealt directly with Catek. Catek does not answer their phone, or return emails. Is there another distributor for Catek products? Anyone have any advice? G
  18. Hey, I'd like to buy this snowboard! Unfortunately I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Would It be a problem for you to ship here? Obviously I will cover the additional shipping cost. You can hit me back at gkerr@waterworksconstruction.ca
