  1. Boom! (and you'll save a bundle)
  2. Boots and bindings sold. #GoCanada This board has put a lot of backs on mattresses...
  3. Part out: Boots $200 SOLD Binders and heels $350 SOLD Board and isolation plates $450
  4. Board, plates, and binders sold. Gotta move quick if you want race gear! Boots still available, may trade on Palmer riser plates.
  5. A killer BX package for sale. Size 27.5 32 Prime Boots. Includes both sets of lower tread lace up thingys to colour coordinate with the rest of your kit. Great shape! Only used for racing, and I used my hard boot liners a lot of the time instead of the liners in the photo Size large Burton C60 bindings. These are not the flexy 're-flex' design, just classic discs and rock-solid high backs. I put size medium straps on because the stock straps were maxed on my sz. 9.5 boots. The C60 straps in the photo are a huge upgrade from the original straps, both for comfort and quality. The board has plenty of edge left, and it has only been ground once. Unfortunately, it was butchered during the grind. I posted the grind last year on this forum. It is still damn fast, and I qualifed 4th overall at a pretty cometative FIS SBX race in Owl's Head, Quebec last year. So it remains worthy of competition. Nonetheless, it is prices accordingly because of the base grind. There is a possibility of a local sale on the board, so priority will go there... Everything ships from Canada, postal code: B2Y 4T9. I have a PayPal account, but I prefer to send/receive cheques in the mail. Board & Rocket Cross Plate: $600 CAD SOLD Bindings: $150 CAD SOLD Boots: $100 CAD --- Still Available my email addess is: gkerr at w a t e r w o r k s c o n s t r u c t i o n dot ca Uploaded with ImageShack.us I'm also selling a sick road bike, check it out HERE.
  6. All SOLD! #BuyLocal A killer GS package for sale. Everything is dead mint, board looks and rides like new. It's been sharpened like 1 or two times. This is enough gear to keep someone going for years! Head Stratos Pro boots include all three types of tongues (soft orange, stock black, and race silver). Also two sets of liners, and four spare sets of walking plates. Size 27.5. SOLD Bindings are step-in Trench Digger 3. The heels are included (currently installed on the boots). Excellent condition, used for about five seasons. SOLD Board is 178cm APEX Fast+ (titanal construction) with the APEX flex-plate (not the Canadian Apex brand). This is a world cup type of alpine board, the only exception is the length --- most men ride a 185cm, and this is a 178cm. So it may be ideal for an elite lady, small man, developing racer... Although if you're considering this you probably know what you're looking at. SOLD Everything ships from Canada, postal code: B2Y 4T9. I have a PayPal account, but I prefer to send/receive cheques in the mail. A cool $450 for the board! Am I crazy? my email address is: gkerr at w a t e r w o r k s c o n s t r u c t i o n dot ca I'm also parting out a 12 lb road bike, check it out HERE.
  7. Thanks, I will request this when the time comes. The wax & edges will be on par with the equipment of any top NORAM racer. Any idea to what extent the grind referenced above could hold someone back? +0.02 seconds or +2.00 seconds on a 60.00 second course? It is a small FIS event, with somewhere between 50 and 100 points available to the winner. FYI, I'm 30 years old, with an infant daughter and a fairly demanding career. Judging the importance of a race is difficult. I don't get to do many, so I guess they are all important to me, but I will never be on the National Team or considered for the Olympics. Tighter than I'd like! It is within my capability to win the event, and that is my full intention. Nonetheless, the competition will be stiff and I may not even make the top 10... The winner of the event will likely be rewarded with enough FIS points to enter a World Cup event. I would love to be presented with that opportunity, but there are a lot of extenuating circumstances that affect that outcome. I was under the impression that Kessler's, SG's, Oxess', Apex's, etc. are stone ground (maybe not Hyperglide) and effectively ready to race (with the exception of race wax and the rider's preferred edge & base angles). My Kessler had a beautiful broken linear structure when it came out of the box. Understood. Unfortunately, my season is 3.5 months long and I am not willing to spend 30% of it without my only BX board. This will be a consideration for the off season. I do take my races seriously, but I am by no means a serious racer. It takes a massive commitment to continually race at a NORAM level. I guess I have other priorities in my life... As for a second board, it has always been a consideration. But I have never been able to justify the expense to myself when the cost is equal to an actual ski vacation. Maybe this will be the 'straw that breaks the camel's back' and I will buy a race board (obviously this one will be my trainer). Seen any good deals? Did that at this event last season!! Ruined my weekend for sure. Thanks for the comments, Greg
  8. Update: The shop offered to send the board to SkiMD for a proper tune and assessment on their dime. Unfortunately, this is my only board for both racing and training, and I'm not willing to part with it just before an event (in case it isn't returned in time). Aside from the compromised life of the board, my major concern is that the base is not as 'fast' as it should be, but that may not be evident until timed qualification runs are completed and compared with other high caliber athletes. What are your guys thoughts on this? Will the base be slower? I've been to FIS events where one second could be the difference between first and not qualifying... I could scour the Bomber classifieds forum, and make a few calls to shops around North America and get a new BX board in time for my upcoming event. But I'm not sure if the difference will be significant... Please post your thoughts!
  9. Thanks for the feedback everybody... No real surprise from the responses, I just wanted confirmation of my inclination before I contacted the shop. FYI, it is a great shop. They have a clean and well organized facility and the ability to do real ski and snowboard tuning (although this one was butchered). They really take part in community events with outdoor winter sports and running/triathlon in the summer. It is always my preference to support a great local shop like this one. I will contact the owner and let him know my dissapointment. Perhaps he will suggest o solution or compensation, perhaps not. I will keep you guys up to date.
  10. A local shop (here in Halifax, NS, Canada) got a stone grinder for snowboards last year. Until then if you needed a stone grind the closest spot was Mont Tremblant in Quebec (a 12 hour drive). I race SBX and I am pretty competitive in our local series, and I usually make it to a couple NORAM races each season for a race-cation. I'm not on the world cup or anything, but I want my gear to work well and I take hysterically good care of it. My Kessler is two years old and due for a base grind... So I took it into the local shop. When I picked it up I was upset because my explicit instructions NOT to wax or sharpen the board (grind only) were ignored. Now the edges are at 90º instead of 88º where they have always been. I can bring them back to 88º, but it is a pain. Additionally, when I got home I noticed 4 or 5 spots on the base where it looks like the stone stopped on the board, they can be felt as a definite indents. See the iPhone pics below, the quality isn't great, but I think it looks fairly obvious. I have never had a base grind on a board before, so hopefully you knowledgeable BOL members can tell me if this is a hack job, or can this be expected from a stone grind?
  11. I have a set of Burton C60's (4 x 4) in size large. I am between a 9.5 and a 10 for my boots, so the binding is just slightly big. My preference would be a tighter fit. If someone has something that is suitable for racing SBX - I'm up for a trade, or just an outright purchase. Let me know! Greg
  12. Hello, I'm interested in the bindings for sale. Please contact me greg_184 at hotmail..com Thanks, Greg
  13. 12 prospective buyers so far and no sale... Lots of "Hi, I'm interested". Anyway, my PayPal is listed above and money talks.
  14. I've priced shipping to the USA for a couple people... It is pretty much $60 no matter where it goes ($58 to Philly, $62 to Cali). So $150 will get this anywhere in the Conus. Gkerr@ waterworks construction dot ca is my PayPal.
  15. All PM's & emails replied... Still available
  16. All PM's replied... Still available
  17. SOLD!! Yup, $100 bones will take this home. I'll even include the shipping in Canada. There is a tiny dent near the nose (no impact on performance) from a fall on a ski rack. Less than 10 runs on this board! It is too long for me, I'm gonna stick with a 178 Coiler. Bindings not included. By greg_kerr at 2011-11-28
  18. If your interested I can make some measurements...
  19. Sorry, didn't see this question pop up. To be honest, I didn't even that FR2's came in sizes. I thought it was one size fits all, and the heel cups and toe ramps just adjusted to fit... Maybe someone can enlighten me. Anyway, my boots are a size 9.5 and I thought the fit was great.
  20. Snowboard gear, cycling gear, sunglasses, electronics... Just no Garbage. I would even throw cash into a deal if something suited me. I don't really need any decks. I might be open to discussion on a PGS or PSL board, but I am pretty set for pretty much all snowboard equipment.
  21. Spare heel cups sold. Spare toe risers sold. Complete bindings still for sale. New price $300. I want these gone!!!
  22. No problems per say... But the stock backs are pretty crappy compared to almost anything else on the market. They are soft, low, and ugly. My thoughts are: the binding has excellent adjust-ability. The position can be dialed in to the millimeter. The straps can be angled for maximum response. Why would you have anything less than the optimum performance high-back? Anyway, the sales update is as follows: Two offers received, both were conditionally accepted (shipping logistics, address confirmation, etc.). Unfortunately, no response from either buyer... What the hell? IT WAS THEIR OFFER! Did they get offerer's remorse? Cold feet? Regardless, these are still for sale. Thanks, Greg
