Here is a little more info:
I am a boarder-cross racer, and have been fairly competitive for the last 12 years or so. Unfortunately, I am in the dying (well now it is completely dead) bread of hard boot SBX racers. For the last two years I have been the only hardbooter at any major SBX event I've attended....I am gonna try to switch to soft boots next season, and hopefully not get so worked by the modern courses.
In addition to the major investment in new equipment, I can't justify keeping my current sled just to not ride it. So, I am going to try and sell it. It is a 162 Kessler with the black top sheet. It was custom built by the mad scientist himself Hans Kessler with a 21.0 cm waist and 10.0 m sidecut. The board is super flat so the effective edge is huge (like 145 cm, maybe more). This means it rides much more like a classic 170 cm or 175 cm board.
The board is fairly stiff as it was designed for aggressive lines in race courses. However, it is not as stiff as a GS board, since it is closer to a SL board. My weight is a solid 170 lbs (I don't carry much body fat) and I found the board excellent. If you have never riden a Kessler it is sort hard to explain the stiffness, they have a different feel than any other board in the world. The way they release from each turn drives the board down the hill, not across. Their incredible dampening makes every snow condition a 7:00 am groomer. It feels like your cheating when this thing is on snow. I have been riding for over 20 years and the hopefully next board and the boards after that will all be Kesslers.
The board is mint. It has only been sharpened it 3 times, so there is a tone of edge left. It has seen maybe 6 days on snow total. I was in a serious jam for a board mid season, and Kessler was the most accommodating company to deal with.
Since it is April, I didn't think I would try to sell until next October or November....But if you want a smokin' end of season deal I'll let it go for a smooth $1000 shipping in.
