  1. Yup it cuts off a little bit before middle of the board, going in an angle... Was that a good board for the time ? I always thought I had been scammed by burton.. (was VERY pricey)
  2. I always thought it was factory prime, wasnt sure, pretty funny they dont put the name tag on it ? As for the year, I still have no idea .. :P
  3. Okay guys, I'm a bit ashamed of not knowing the model of my board.. But I cant find it on internet.. I know I got it about 5-6 years ago.. At the burton factory (in burlington i think) they were saying it was the last year they were producing race board.. I'd need to know what are the fixation too, any ideas ?

    Off snow training

Oh well, i've been hitting up the gym lately, I need to get my legs in shape for this season.. How about we share some training tips ? I wonder how the actual racers train while not on the board.. Any suggestions ?
  8. the hot scrape is scraping right after waxing ?
  9. @ twister : nice helmet ! Would you guy order a helmet just by mesuring your head circumference and checking the helmet specifications ? lol ... I want it now and so bad, I'll go and see some this weekend if I have the time..
  10. I use a iron that is made for waxing.. its not expensive, An iron with holes isnt recommended... You can buy a kit for 50$.. you get iron + turtle + scraper + wax..
  11. well it seems he got that thing under his hat (the dough like material)
  12. Hey nice tip ! But I dont think every helmet can be "altered" like that ?
  13. Alright ! I guess its a base grind, then i need to buy some prep wax.. and i'll be all set... I need to find a good shop for the base grind now ! They do that with a machine right ?
  14. I think i prefer getting away with good board maintenance than the hot box.. I dont want to screw my board lol ! :) The only thing im not so sure about, when i wax.. I drip the wax on the board than even it with the iron, after i let it cool down for like 30 minutes, scrape.. But i've never used a brush to structure it.. Im find this step very fuzzy, well i dont know what to use and how to use it well, especially on my race board.. What tool do you guy use, and what are your steps ? Do you wax/scrape/structure and your ready to go, or you do that a few times to get the structure out better ?
  15. Getting it done at a shop (hot box) with base grind, is it expensive ? I never heard of that around here, perhaps they do this more on the west part of canada, anybody from montreal that know a good place ?
  16. They seem nice.. I bet 50 cents would ride with those boots :P
  17. Okay, I must admit it, Over the past couple of years I've been very lazy with my board, and I didnt wax it enough (didnt put wax coat for summer and so on) Last season, I'd go to the tune shop get it waxed and everything, after a day of riding, the base (especially close to the edges) gets very white and seems very dry... I've tried to do something with it last season (waxing more) but it seems like it won't get that much better... Is it possible to have screwed up my base by not waxing it enough ? Is there any solutions... I've read about a hot box.. I dont know any place that could do that for me.. I'd buy a new board and take care of it better but its not really my objectve since I have to buy some other stuff and I dont have the budget for a new race board (bought a free ride one at the end of last year)... Anyway, I hope to hear from you guys please dont too much for being a jerk with my stick :(
  18. damn ! it looks kinda fake though
  19. Thanks for the input ! Yeah im with CASI-ACMS, I got pro-deals on Dainese and Bern mainly, deals on Bern seems very very good for me, although I really like Dainese helmet design and its less "park" oriented.. I'll definitly look into boeri too, but I doubt I can get prices that matches the alliance ones.. The only problem is that I probably wont find any Dainese or Bern supplier around here ? (Im in Montreal, and I dont remember seeing these brands at Sport Expert for example)
  20. Im going to take a look soon, the winter stuff must be out by now, maybe i'll get good deals with the alliance too (ACMS) Im just waiting for them to fix my cotisation (wich they messed up..) and I'll be able to see the pro deals.. :) How much are you guys spending on your helmets ? To have good quality I guess you need to go in the 100's
  21. Hey guys ! I understand why this community is so good, thanks for all the tips/replies.. I guess i'll really have to go out and try them at my local shops... Only problem is that they dont carry alot of stuff there. What are you wearing under the helmet ? Because if I need to try i'll put something on to be sure I dont get something too tight in it... Most of the ppl i know wear a thin layer under the helmet and they say its pretty hot and comfy, I guess thats what I should do right ? :P Thank you for helping a helmet newbie, at least Im not the only one who had to go through that ;)
  22. Oh well, I must admit, I've been snowboarding for 10 years + and never wore an helmet.. I think I don't need to push my luck any further, and I'd like to get one this year, especially that it became a standard for snowboard instructors.. got to show the kids the example ! Okay now, I'm sure that you guys have good recommandation for me so I dont look like a clown ?
  23. yup i never rided a skateboard, i did try but nothing else ! I've searched for you deck it seems that you need to buy the trucks and wheel separatly.. I know bomber sells Loaded boards, are they anygood for begginers ?
  24. Hi guys, i've been snowboarding for 10 years or so (carving about 6-7 years) I want to take the fun on the streets, i never owned a skateboard.. So im unsure about it.. what would you recommend me ? I want something fun that can move me around town basically.. Thx.
  25. Oh well i guess I would give you guys feedback on my day ! I went to the mountain and stayed there for like 6 hours straight without being tired (WOW!!) on hardboots I push alot more and usually 3 hours straight and Im getting tired.. I really enjoyed going back to softboot, I think it gave me a good feeling (variation) and will help me improve my overall riding ! You get to do movements that you can forget on your race board, I look foward to ride more on both styles to see what I can get from that. I trained my switch riding alot !! Was very fun, I had the bad habit of looking behind me (like I do when i ride switch in race) it was pretty weird !! But so much easier ! Anyway, i've got to find a way to get those boots tighter it feels like i got nothing around my ankles :P
