  1. You guys made me want to carve. I went up with friends and decided to ride freestyle for a while. After about three runs i saw one of you and had to switch to plates...God do I love carving. Scuff told me about this place (BOL) and I am so glad it exists. I contemplated going back to being a super dirty hippy and living out a van full of race boards trying to convert people. But missionsary work and saving people was never my thing either:p .
  2. My best guess about the sharp turns made by people was this...The Atmore was going on. The Atmore is one of the only FIS races in Minnesota. It happened to be Slalom day. The Racers are the only ones who have recieved the proper training to carve. had it been GS day you may have seen more big turns being made, none the less very few people enjoy the width of any run like a guy on a large radius carving board. I raced at the Atmore when I was a kid and it's kind of a big deal. i saw that the Stratton Mountain School had traveled here for it. Thats along way to come to the flat lands. Man I had a good time. That guy didn't spoil it for me, i was wearing a suit of armor made out of fun and he couldn't possibly dent it! Just a greasy little smudge:eplus2:
  3. Sorry to jump on this thread as I don't even know what the great MGT is but I got a dose of this "you carver's and your trenches" from a guy at Spirit Yesterday. My reply "Jealous Much!! Oh yeah and I ski better than all yall." I also did my duty of planting the seed when I rode up the lift with a ski racer. She admired my 'Painting' and I told her ski racers take it up with ease.
  4. I was there in the late afternoon saturday. Saw 2 guys carving. One with a short board and one in an orangish jacket. The guy in Orange painted lovely lines with vigor and passion. I wore green and painted beautiful works of art in the runs of Spirit as well. I feel refreshed as I haven't carved in years. love that feeling. Let me know if you may be going again as i picked up a pass super cheap and wanta get my moneys worth, but my auto is not trip worthy.
  5. The slightly longer 171 Craig Kelly Extreme from that same year was my first new board. It was a freaking noodle but a great first board for the bow and the groomers. cool collection!
  6. After some of your offers and emails i've gotten a good idea of whats what and general values. I had not ridden a race board in over three years and have developed all sorts of mental health issues. Went riding yesterday!!! i believe i am cured...Can't let the 185 go yet. Gotta make another trip out west and maybe resume competing in USASA comps, just so little time:p . 168 goes to the first $200 + shipping 162 less interest so $150 or 2, one slightly used for $250 plus shipping -about how much is shipping on a board anyway, roughly?
  7. The dimmensions are as follows E 162 SC 190mm Waist 1450mm Edge Advanced Catenary Sidecut; is a matmatical equation Radius is 9.16-11.64 Anti-progressive E 168 FC 190mm Waist 1510mm Edge Advanced Catenary Sidecut Radius is 9.66-12.16 Anti-progressive Please don't ask me about the math cause it is hard and i will tell you that 'Advanced Catenary Sidecut' = a sweet ride:D
  8. I saw it in a pawn shop for $89. It is big, Probably as long as my 168 give or take a couple cm. I took a better look at it and it is very ridable but rusty, so rusty infact that the rust has clumped and slightly seperated the edge from the top sheet a couple cm long. Other than that, a stone grind would restore it to damn near perfection outside of normal aging. I will get it for somebody if they want it for a $10 handeling charge. Burton 3 strp bindings included (the old wrap around the ankle kind). they might be brittle? Who knows, its old for a snowboard. $89 + 10 + shipping. Let me know :D
  9. I sliterally stumbled on this and am contemplating Evil Bay for it but make me an off and you can emblazon the sky with 'Jager' for those huge booze induced method airs--- Nitro produced twin tip 157
  10. I put this up last night with more info but it vanished!? I got the approval of Fin so I hope this one stays.
  11. Two Eight Year Old Identity Never Been Riden--- 1 E162 SC Carbon 1 E168 FC Carbon From this Family--- Entertaining Offers...
  12. It's the Comp III Safari Faux Zebra in Black and White.
  13. I saw Old Burton Safari in almost perfect condition with Burton three strap bindings. Make me an offer or let me know what it might be worth.
  14. I think i like it here...so many perspectives. I probably would never ski if it weren't for shape skis.
  15. I am new here and decided to see what i could find about waterskiing and Carvers. There is some good stuff but I am surprised there is not more. The Relativity between carving and slalom waterskiing is so close for me. The closest thing that compares to ripping a highspeed carve on a race board is laying down a huge arc on the water behind a boat! I fantasize about a steep consistent pitch of freshly winch-cat groomed corduroy in summer- & in winter a perfect reflecting glass behind a mastercraft at sunset when the lake is warm like bathwater in late july- :p
  16. Ditto!!! Learning to ski is easier than learning to snowboard- Becoming a great skier is harder than becoming a great boarder- Carving came naturally to me but I grew up skateboarding and rollerblading, slalom waterskiing and playing hockey, so i had kinda already gotten a grasp on edging and balance. When i made that first carve though, MAN! That was the stuff.
  17. DANG! Y'all are a ruthless bunch! Maybe someone will let me ride theirs sometime...
  18. Anyone got a Big sims race board in good to great shape. i have been wanting one for a while:D
  19. Karl, Thanks for the heads up on this. This will probably be my first post of many. This is about the coolest thing i have seen in a while. Perhaps someone will be interested in my Extra Identities??:p
