  1. As nobody has answered your 2 messages yet, then I'll be the first to welcome you ;) ! I have no idea about your Burton M6 asym board but isn't it (very) old? When I bought my first asym board (157 cm I think) I was something like 58kg (I think) and 170 cm (I'm sure) if it can help a bit... anyway if you don't like it, give a try to 'new generation' boards:D
  2. Obviously Free encyclopedia is not available in 'non free' countries anyway, thanks, it's interesting..I never learnt that during my (boring) latin classes:freak3:
  3. Another shot of the innovative space age spacing system ;) what is that???? Anyway, Nice too see there are some asym aficionados in the North America , I thought I was the only one left inthe world:eplus2:
  4. Please make a copy-paste, I don't have access to wikipedia from China... Thanks:p
  5. BTW here is a pic showing one of the reasons I stopped using my first board. She had her time, in the end it's not nice too be an 'old lady'...
  6. Yep! Got 2 but only using one and keeping the other as a souvenir (my first board), I have posted a picture somewhere in a post about old snowboards. Funny thing about asym is that a few years back I really didn't like symetrical boards but now it doesn't make any difference; I think I haven't changed much but boards have...like it's not as heavy as it used to be. As for the backwards cut, amazing:lol: never even thought it was possible, your style of riding must be a bit special! Might give it a try using my brother's asym board as he's goofy and i'm regular. He got an old F2 Firebird and I have a Lacroix. Now I have 2 new boards, I keep this 'no flex' Asym when there are too many rocks on the slope.
  7. If anyone has spare short toe clips for 4,5 or 5,5mm bails, let me know, thanks. If you know where I can easily find those (in shops), any information is welcome; I already found plastic toe clip for 5 mm bails
  8. Hey Vigilante76, listen to the wise man:) Moreover, seabright is just old! I used seabright bindings for many years on my Lacroix (bought in 94) with Raichles 121 until one day, 10 years later, one clip of the front bail broke in my hands...maybe it's things that can just happen but still, I think that with years the plastic may have become weaker. Hopefully didn't happen when riding nor in the middle of nowhere ps: however, I really like the little frog and have enjoyed for many years using those bindings...but it's not the topic today!:o
  9. I won't say one is better than another because I never tried step-in bindings.... BUT... if you have small feet (or are a woman), read this : for standard bindings make sure that the toe bail clip goes well with your boots! Last year I bought a pair of F2 Race Titanium that I used with my old painfull boots (Raichle 121), no problem. Then this year I bought Head Stratos Pro boots but I realized (too late) that on the riding position, the clip touches (actually lies on) the first buckle of my boots all of this is kind of troublesome. PS1:Boots are Mondo 26 PS2: Sometimes I think it sucks to be a woman who loves harboots:(, hopefully I have big feet and i'm not skinny anymore
  10. oops sorry from now on I will just stick to read posts or maybe change my contact lenses
  11. You can have access to the website through http://www.alpinecarving.com/resources.html when you click on utah session: http://www.hardbooter.com/wtc/ Then it's like normal, weird...
  12. Oyo! as a lady I'm shocked I'm not sure the one riding that would be popular with girls....anyway it might be for the japanese market, in some way it is a soft manga drawing style...
  13. ...nice reading you have!!! Can't you scan the page? I have no easy access to the US Vogue....but I'm kindda very curious :p
  14. http://outside.away.com/outside/culture/200607/online-dating-for-outdoorsy-singles-1.html Very interesting and 'refreshing' story....in the end the carving boy is not the worst...!
  15. Obviuously I have problems with Internet....chinese mistake So what I wanted to say is: Well, I'm quite desappointed to discover this thread too late!!! I've been looking, for a while, a place to go snowboarding during this summer in Oceania!! After some research I was up to go to a backcountry trip in NZ in SB but in the end the dates wouldn't do it so I decided to go back in Europe for an whole month, postponing my 'great summer snowboard trip' to 2007...ah too bad, I could have make it to your session!! Please give us a feedback so next year I could do it to a HB meeting in AUS! I could be around within a few (12) hours...in the meantime have fun guys!!!
  16. I must admit that I'm a little bit desappointed to discover this thread so late I've been looking (for a while) a good occasion to go to Oceania snowboarding; after some resarch I was up to go to

  19. well, i'm very happy about everything i bought this year but no real good deal to be very proud of. I bought my new head stratos pro with a 30% discount (early "end of season sales") and a 12% off as VAT refund as this year I bought all my gear with detax;) -- the bad side of detax is that you have to travel with what you bought and -eventually- may have to pay an overweight tax :(
  20. First year with an helmet and even if I was reluctant to wear one, after a few days using it, now I just love it! Feel safer, it keeps you warm. In Europe it's getting more common to wear an helmet but it's quite new though, as for me it's just about getting old, thinking too much or being wiser....
  21. hum...I didn't know that, interesting! i was just describing a feeling I had at that time, I was young and not looking too much into details but it's good to know even now anyway. But well let's see the bright side of the moon:D , I do snowboard with hardboots even 13 years later:o and UNFORTUNATELY I have no opportunity to be on slopes very often to be "good" at all kind od winter sports, have to make some choices....
  22. :p so funny!BTW I was very surprised to notice that last season in europe some people were still riding those monoski! As for me it was very fashionable just before the big "come out" of snowboards ( it was kindda late though ...in 93 it was already the begining of the end of alpine gear as I learnt); I guess at this time there wouldn't have been snowboards I might have tried one of those as I was a 'getting into being a bored' skier ....BUT just the idea of doing monoski was painful for my knees, who knows why:cool:
  23. Thanks for your answers! Of course I'm also thinking about TD2 but with shipping and customs to europe or china; it's a bit expensive so I'm looking for other options before making a choice.... I have F2 race titanium already; they are ok but a bit 'soft', reason why I'm not willing to buy a second set for this other board I have; I prefer having something more 'radical' and I don't need very complicated set up;
  24. Hi Pow, I noticed in your profile that you own phiokka ph46; i'm thinking about buying those as ph1 seems elevated and I don't like those elevated central disks. It would be nice if you could give me a feedback on yours; maybe you've done it already on the forum? eventually for me it would be for an all mountain board. any comment from other carvers who owns ph46 is welcome of course! cheers
