Burton Lightspeed vs. sintered

wondering what is the real difference between the two? Can you wax both? or is lightspeed a fancy sintered? I have ridden only sintered bases and am considering getting an Alp with a lightspeed base and am basicly wondering if I'd be happy with it. Thanks.

Well, my Alp, I think, has a sintered base, at least the spec sheets I have seen, but the Burton "lightspeed" base is an extruded base, basically a less dense P-Tex....allegedly less fast, but I don't know if it matters for the recreational rider...

Simple answer is no - it's marketing spiel.
