Demo Club

So Dr. D and I have acquired a skwal.

We are looking for others interested in a demo club - starting with the skwal and possibly expanding into other rare/unusual items.

Initially, we are looking for others interested in partial ownership of the skwal. Shares start at $50 (negotiable between the current owners). money goes to acquisition cost of the skwal, tuning, maintenance, and possible future acquisitions.

For your money, you get use of the board on a rotating basis - everyone involved will have use of the board for 2 weeks at a time then send it to the next person on the list.

Each owner will be responsible for shipping to the next location. the Skwal must be freshly waxed by the person sending it.

If the Skwal is damaged you are responsible for fixing it before sending it to the next person.

If the skwal gets broken, you must post a picture of the broken board so everyone knows you're not just keeping it for yourself.

If you break the skwal, you are responsible for buying out anyone who has not had one rotation (2 weeks) at their original buy-in price. Once the board has made the rounds once, we figure everyone involved will have gotten their money's worth and nothing will be owed by the breaker.

we will agree to have the board tuned periodically, funded by buy-in costs. once we have depleted those funds, we may have to all pitch in if any additional tuning is required.

If any of the owners are going to be at SES or ECES we will make sure you have it that week.

If anyone is interested, post here and we'll get you involved.

Dr. D, anything to add??

If we get enough interest in the club idea we will have the group economic power to perhaps get a demo item or two from various manufacturers. We can also pool resources and perhaps purchase a particular item that has a majority interest. because of our widespread geographic location smaller companies and or technologies such as the skwal that are not well represented may be interested in the exposure that we can provide. Items would be available for local events provided you are willing to be present and willing to share time for demo runs by others. Its a grand idea that has already earned its share of detractors, imagine that:rolleyes: I personally feel that clubs are not a new idea and can certainly be run efficiently and fairly for all involved.
