peter_x
After all the time I spent learning about alpine boarding, I took my new Burton to the shop to get the edges sharpened, and in a major lapse of thought didn't mention what angles I wanted. The tip and tail are detuned...the guy just filed the corner straight down. The guy who handed me the board couldn't say what angles they were at since he hadn't done the actual tune. Irreversible, right? Can I get new edges?

Allee
:) Chill, it's hardly a disaster. Most shops, if you don't specify, will just tune 0/0. So it's quite possible there's no foul at all. And you'd want the tip and tail detuned especially if you're new to an alpine board. Ride it and see, it might be fine. If not, then you can take it somewhere and get it redone. Even if they have taken you a degree or two, it's hardly a board killer. If you have plenty of edge left it can be taken back to zero, it does take a bit of life out of it, but nothing to panic about...
