GeoffV
I found this on ebay. This is classic board probably form the early 90's, I can't believe that it's never been mounted. Checker Pig

D-Sub
is that the "pre-swoard" board? hell I remember checker pigs!
nekdut
is that the "pre-swoard" board? No, I believe that was the Wild Duck Knifer. :)
D-Sub
yup, wild duck. one of those other very odd snowboard company names
DrCR
Yeah, I saw that auction...it the board any good? What's it like? I'm half considering bidding on it.
D-Sub
unless youre a collector or feel like t-nutting your bindings, why in the world would you do that?
marz
Back in the day,(way back :) ) that board rocked. If it was $25 w/$15 to ship it'd be worth it just to have the name & graphic on the wall. D-sub's right, for a $100 you can get a much better, more modern ride. DrCR
Yeah, I know. It's just that I can't seem to find anything lol. Looking for a stiffer ~157 board, wider, higher sidecut perfered. Something like a cheap Swoard. I remember boardy mentioning the Checker Pig in his Swoard review, so that's why I asked what you guys about it. My Nitro Range was great for learning HBing on, but it's just simply too soft for me as I want to start pushing hard Gs. I'm still seriously kicking myself for not getting that Elan Ballistic ~157 that went for ~$50 + shipping on the classified forum last winter. It went to the NY sitskier though if I'm not mistaken, a good man so I hear, so I guess I'm not too upset. Maybe it didn't work out for him... Derf
If you are looking for something inexpensive, there was an Original Sin Sinner 167 at a shop nearby (I live in Montréal) for 100$CDN. It has a 21 cm waist if I am not mistaken. I could go check to see if they haven't sold it if you want.
DrCR
Sounds like too much board for me. At least if it's not really soft. I'm only at little guy at ~150lbs. I play soccer not football lol. Thanks anyway though Derf. :)
marz
Just remembered Rossi made the Alpine version of the old blue & silver Melhuse race boards. Alpine was a wider/freecarve (~21cm?) version of the Race, same construction without the VAS. The originals were blue & silver, sandwich construction 4x4 inserts. Later ones were a red/black satin fabric graphic, went to a little softer cap construction. Both came in 159cm, see 'em on ebay often enough. Might be a cheap "Swordstitute" ?! DrCR
True, not always. A 168 is the right size Swoard 2D for me. ;)
Big Daddy Walter
This exact Pig was my first board. It is still fun in very soft stuff. I think I picked it up on ProForm in 1991 for less than 200 clams. Mounted and fixed position Emery binding on it.
Bordy
I broke out the Checker Pig I have at SES last year. So soft and Old School, I think it was $168 on form I remember saving for one! I too had Emery Surfs on it at one point, but drilled it for four hole F2s after breaking The surfs and the race kit surfs I replaced them with over and over.. For some one under 130 who is a newbie the board may work. You would have to run very Soft boots and bindings to make it work. At SES I was rocking Deeluxe Carbons intecs with Deeluxe Indys and the board just folded in the middle every turn. Funny thing was I don,t think any one noticed. DrCR
Hate to keep this going in the classifed forum and all, but what do you guys think of this Swoardish board? The dude said it's early-mid 90s. I smiled when I saw the width and sidecut. :) But wanted you guys take on it before giving him some green. Burton clickable thumbnails: A no-go like the Checker Pig? Or could this be a good catch? Oh, saw this Rossignol 153cm on eBay. Any comments? Thanks, DrCR
Derf
I can't comment on the ride, but you can find the specs of both on my website in the catalogs section.

tilledog
Funny thing was I don,t think any one noticed. Noticed the board underfoot or the folding of the board underfoot? I noticed the board for sure but assumed the later. Davo
