lonbordin
i just found out about Key Equipments' "Disruptive" boot. Another modified AT boot for snowboarding.https://www.key-equipment.com/shop/p/splitboard-boot-disruptive Instead of leaning into the spring on a spine method the Disruptive relies on the tongue for flex. Gotta' say I like the strap locations and the strap mounted on the hinge. So we now have the Atomic Backlandshttps://www.atomic.com/en-us/shop/product/backland-carbon-ae5027360.html#color=32231 Phantom Slippershttps://www.phantomsnow.com/collections/boots Also a whole lotta boots fit the Phantom link levershttps://www.phantomsnow.com/collections/boots/products/link-levers Backlands, Scarpas (multiple models like the F1s), K2 Mindbenders, Scott Orbits Edited January 15, 2023 by lonbordin pretty exciting really to have more options...
jng
Where are you seeing link lever compatibility for non-Backland boots?
BlueB
I have the Mindbenders. I don't see how this could fit on them. I had to make my own springs.

I mounted the link levers on my Scarpa Aliens against the advice of Phantom. They work perfectly (on what I think is still the lightest and most compact at boot for split). I like the Backlands, but like the sound of more options too.

philw
Oh, oh, oh... more boot options! Yay. Seriously, if boots start being reasonably compatible in this respect, it does increase the available options.

For shredding pow, which is their sole purpose (splitboarding), they're fine. For other uses, I'd replace the BOA with an ankle ratchet. Aliens are comfy, extremely light, compact (super short BSL for their size) and soft flexing -- more so than my "soft" boots. Mine are modified to have a power strap and BOA and that's it -- so, very simple too.
